I'll agree with most of what he said, they are most certainly not the worst company in America and it's good to see them actually admitting they've made mistakes. Very few companies actually do that, most are eager to find scapegoats (like their employees).
That being said, I do take issue with one thing here regarding SimCity: "many contend this is a form of digital rights management (DRM), We can't be any clearer: it's not. Period," It's already been proven by modders that the game doesn't do any tabulating on EA's servers, if what he says is true then I advise him to put his money where his mouth is and disable the feature.
Sounds like he's talking about the current generation, in which the PS3 was a pain in the ass. I'll wait to see what Microsoft shows off when they announce their console and then decide which one I'll buy
Please, for the love of God, don't steal this game. There are so few game developers out there who actually give a crap about their customers, don't make them regret doing this. If you must be cheap wait until it's on sale.
@DrTrafalgarLaw I understand your point, but it wasn't really a gaming sim as you describe. Really it's just a few different lines of text and some animations. If you're concerned about tacked-on features, you should be more outraged over the industry's current love affair with multi-player. Take for example Mass Effect 3's piss-poor multi-player component, that until the "extended cut" was released, was required to play in order to see the "best" ending. One can only imagine how good ME3 could have been if talent and resources weren't squandered to tack on an MP
@Coheedrocks27 Indeed, what was even more ironic was how little a part it played in the game - plus it was completely optional. I don't see the problem with having more options, removing choice and options from games is what typically frustrate me
@m_bd89 @ZRavN I'm curious if that's actually true. Go to any MMO and you'll see that most of the toons are females when we all know that most of the players are male.
