That boss fight is optional. Come back later and it will be super easy.

I managed to get a copy because my store doesn't understand release dates. The game is pretty. Its not mind-blowingly gorgeous, but it is certainly a big step up from Dark Souls.

I'm going to go off the list and say my PSP has been the best for me. Its kind of useless until you install CFW, but once it is packed full of emulators it is one heck of a portable.

But PS2 comes in second ;)

Breaking News:

Spending 6 years on a $15 downloadable game isn't a good business model.

[QUOTE="nosmokingbandit"]

[QUOTE="Cranler"] Gamestop should be forced to pay royalties to pub for each used game it sells. Are you saying its ok for Gamestop to double dip but not the people who actually made the game?Cranler

I really want to hear your opinion on public libraries. Are they not simply allowing people to steal content from publishers and authors? Should they be closed down or forced to pay royalties to Random House or Penguin every time a book is checked out. Should that cost be passed along to the consumer? What do you decide on, 10% of retail? So if a high school student needs to borrow several books from the school library they can easily get a bill of several hundred dollars over the course of a year. Should students that have wealthier parent's be allowed more opportunity to learn? Should better students who are in advanced classes be required to get a job to pay for their library books and consequently sacrifice their education time to flip burgers or mow lawns?

Or are books lol totally not like gamez yo.

I dont see how libraries relate to used games sales. Good luck finding a popular book on the shelf at your local library. A good percentage of the books at a library are written by deceased authors anyway. Book publishers dont risk millions of dollars like game publishers do. Printed book is on the way out. Its all about ebooks now.

So theft of old content is ok, but theft of newer content is not? Regardless of the effort that goes into it, the normal retail price, the initial investment by the author, etc...

A lot of books in libraries are reference books. Books worth several hundred dollars that took a dozen years to write. Its ok to borrow a $500 copy of Ethics in Business and Economics and read it cover to cover for your thesis that you use to get a 6-figure salaried job, but not ok to borrow a $60 copy of COD to sit on your couch with a bag of cheetos and shame.

When is the cutoff date? When everyone at Activision is dead it will be ok to buy a used copy of COD? What arbitrary number is the magic amount of time that 2nd hand sales become ethical in your mind?

You are being absurd. Game publishers do not have magical, legally enforceable rights that no other media has just because you like them more. I remember going to my public library and borrowing a copy of Ice Age 2. It was only about 6 months old. Surely the library should be chastised for allowing me to watch a movie without writing a check to Blue Sky or Fox.

You aren't making a good argument in how to deliniate acceptable 2nd hand sales and unacceptable 2nd hand sales. So far your best argument has been "lol authors are old." You can do better than that.

[QUOTE="xscrapzx"][QUOTE="Cranler"] I dont have a problem with used games its just that Gamestop can resell the same copy of a game multiple times for huge profits while the pub gets nothing.Cranler
And whats the problem? The developer made a game, sold it and made money. What you are complaining that gamestop does with their property you are now claiming it should be ok for the developer, but not gamestop?

Gamestop should be forced to pay royalties to pub for each used game it sells. Are you saying its ok for Gamestop to double dip but not the people who actually made the game?

I'm not sure what country you live in, but here in the USA there is something called the First Sale Doctrine.

Read it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-sale_doctrine

Logic also has an affect on this argument. Did you buy a new car, new house, do you have a library card, borrowed a friend's game/book/movie/cd?

If you feel like it is "theft" to purchase a used game, do you support the removal of librarys from schools (and anywhere else)? Make every student pay thousands of dollars every year for research.

Should Good Will and The Salvation Army be closed down? They don't benefit the manufacturer at all.

I fully support hardware manufacturers' right to put any restrictions on their hardware they want because in a free market we have a right to simply not buy the hardware (good old-fashioned voting with your wallet), but to claim that second-hand sales are akin to theft is absurd and you are buying into the corporatism that is ruining what was once a great capitalist economy.

[QUOTE="finalstar2007"]

[QUOTE="Sebastien_"] What do you like about it most?CaseyWegner

Everything really, from the amazing soundtrack, Great visuals its like being in an animation film and not a game, very addictive battle system ( i could spend hours and hours just batteling) to a great story and lots more! im already 6 hours into the game and loving it

do you think it could be good for somebody who's been disillusioned by the jrpgs released since final fantasy x? i used to love them back in the old days when there was chrono trigger, secret of mana, secret of evermore, illusion of gaia, final fantasy 4, 6, and 7, dragon warrior 1 through 4, etc.

the only ones i've played and enjoyed semi-recently were the kingdom hearts games.

Yes. I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a JRPG since FFX (unless you count Valkryia Chronicles, which was fantastic). I like the old-school style rpgs, and Ni No Kuni is flippin perfect. Its the ideal blend of old a new. Everything about it is excellent so far, and I've just gotten to Al Mamoon (about 4.5 hours in with all side quests completed so far). I'm in love. I can't wait to get home from work to play. I'm pissed that I have to work all weekend, including extra hours to cover for other coworkers. I haven't felt this way about a game in many years. I didn't play the demo, but I've heard it isnt a good representation of the game. Which makes sense because the game is an experience that you can't really absorb in an hour demo.

People here have no reading comprehension.

PSN was not hacked.

The PS3's firmware was hacked (again), but this time it was the latest version so there is still psn access. This is NOT a PSN hack. Its all taking place on the client.

Idk

Does the guy with the lantern respawn on the way to Tomb of Giants? I kiled him, but he didn't drop it. Maybe because I cheesed him out with arrows? I read about a helmet in Lost Izalith, but I couldn't find it and wanted to get out of there ASAP because that place creeps me out lol.

Only have Nito then off to the final boss, but it seems so far away because the Tomb of Giants is a joke.

Grawse

Idk if you want spoilers or not, but its not an enemy drop. You can't miss it if you are a chatterbox. Fwiw, I got the latern and its worth getting the helmet in Izalith first. Then you can keep shielding against skeletons, which you will need to do in the 2nd part of the catacombs or you'll die instantly.
