First sorry if this was mentioned....I checked back last 20 pages dating to the 13th, before ad came out.

Toys R Us has the full special edition of RB2 for only $109, plus they advertised a $25 gift card with it. I thought it was way too good to be true, so I went to TRU and of course out of stock. The manager checked other store and they too were out of stock. He was amazed at the price, saying it costs them $150 to buy for resale.

I walked next door to Besy Buy, showed them the ad, and the per manager, they matched without even calling TRU for stock. Didn't get a $25 gift card, but i was more than happy after saving over $80. The RB2 guitar at BB was $90 itself. Pick this up very quickly because I don't think this price will last another day, and it will be a very long time before RB2 drops to $110.

Prob cause Star Wars Galaxies left such a sour result to the community with all the updates that even Lucas was ticked about the player decline. I thought SWG was so much fun the first few months it came out, then the overkill updates tour it apart so i quit after six months

personaly, i think there is a lack of class and a lack of upgrades ... missions all end up being the same ... there isn't much tactic to be done in the game because there aren't any microphones ...

in my opinions, reviews must so damn good for me to buy it ... really !

From what i've heard so far is no in-game voice communication..kind of a downer. Gameplay and maps similar to BF2. Guy at the store played the demo (i didn't) and he said the graphics were great. 40+ items/vehicles.

I own the game, the gameplay and maps are nothing like bf2.

i agree, after playing it now it has just the usual elements from bf2 like pick your class, spawn, and upgrades. I played 1 time achieved 4 unlocks and a few ranks. Also i had a little difficult time getting started, so i'll have to check out the manual to get through the learning curve. What i thought was playing the computer offline to learn everything first seemed like i was actually playing online the way the name tags were. Maybe the offline mode in just an unranked online. Also when i started a new game my rank/xp was reset back to zero for some reason.

anyways the game is fast past and action oriented, the guys looked like they were running a marathon. The graphics are pretty good with everything maxed out, 1680x1050. I didn't experience any slowdowns. overall i think it's pretty fun the one time i played

btw the retail game was released today. collectors and regular version. Best Buy didn't have it on display and had to ask a sales rep for a copy

If I install Vista on another harddrive and XP on my main harddrive can I dual boot without having to reinstall everying onto the 2nd harddrive with vista?Swiftstrike5

yes, i dual boot xp and vista on 2 seperate 320g drives. You can use less space and do 2 partitions on one drive. The new copy of PCGAMER (Nov.) has a step-by-step write up on this process

No...WoW offers the illusion of being productive which is why people keep playing even when they aren't having fun.

Other games don't disguise the fact that they aren't productive for the user, allowing the user to have fun and enjoy the GAME rather than become stressed and furious enough to create a random post on a random message board he just signed up for because "nobody else cares."

Your confusing the game as a whole with the end-game content (*retch*). WoW 1-70 is brilliant... WoW end-game is a complete failure. I knew when I wasn't having fun anymore, and then I quit.

I actually think that the guild/friend list keeps people playing past "fun" far more than any game mechanic they may have.

I'm willing to second this point. But, if you have played many other MMOs previously it isn't difficult to quit, especially WoW.

Yup i've quit SWG and WoW twice. Quit EQ after 3 stints, and tried Guild wars and EQII once. I almost felt like Cartman in that Southpark WoW episode (minus the bedpan). MMORPG's are very addicting. I'm so glad to have quit them so i can spend more productive time at the gym or other activities. The enticing expansion pack keep trying to snag me with their capitalizing tentacles but i resist :)

pick up home premium edition Vista and run a dual boot with XP. I do this and works great for games that aren't working good for vista (2142 cd detection error).

This way you'll have support for the beautiful DX10 games and the video cards are coming down in price.

which mean no hacking and cheating also. That's the only reason I prefer 360 online gaming over pc. The Battlefield series (and many others) were riddled with wall hacks, autoaim, etc.

-No control using gamepad

XFPS and mouse for the 360. yeah it's costly but it comes very close to FPS on pc playing

-No multiplayer without paying a monthly/annual fee for Xbox

true, but it's only $50 for a whole year. That's like a couple days work of mowing some lawns for the kiddies. The XBL content is well worth it.

-No mature community with which to interact (Xbox players have reach puberty in some cases...if you're lucky)

Mix a game and online experience and you're expected to interact with preteens. That's why you have the option of mute or sometimes just not have the headset plugged in.

-No "bargains" for Xbox games. All games are $60.

Sorry not true. I've seen used games that aren't old can be found at the gaming store for half price.My local Fry's usually sell new release games for $49.99 for the first week.

Their are plenty of great games on the 360 that aren't shooters. This isn't even an argument to contest. Oblivion and nearly all sports games are great. What about Forza 2 and Skate? Those are great games. The gamepad issue just comes with experience of playing with the controller. That's why so many players are good and many are making good money in tournaments. (LOL mit on the junk...trust me the state will screw you when it comes to paying a reasonable amount of child support. They take 40% of my salary and the ex bought a new car and house. Do yourself a favor and stay protected)

But that tv is your entertainment center piece, not just used for games. You don't have to spend a grand. I picked up an Olevia 26" lcd that supports 1080 picture that rivals major overpriced brand names for $300.

-Xbox is at the end of it's life now that Halo 3 is out...nothing else to look forward to.

Sorry man but this is completely worst asininestatement i've read. This is actually one of the 360's biggest release year, expecially with mass effect and GTA IV coming out. To say the 360 is done without knowing what good games are in planning phase is idiotic.
