This is definitely the weakest Spider-Man game we've seen a while. Poorly implemented combat mechanics that were clearly swiped from the Arkham series. Poorly implemented stealth mechanics, also clearly swiped from the Arkham series. Poorly implemented web-slinging mechanics that make navigation too often frustrating. Absolutely abysmal storytelling with horrendous animations, writing, and voice-acting. Skill progression that feels utterly meaningless. Tacked on collectable hunting. And little to no variety in mission types and experiences. It's a huge step backwards.
When I saw "Street Fighter: The Movie", I was certain at the time that video game movies could not get much worse. Then I saw "The Legend of Chun Li" and knew that I had been so, so wrong.
This series could not possibly be any worse than those films, though, could it?
Only 14 million Rabbids games sold? Despite them releasing seven new ones every month? Maybe let that series die off, Ubi. Doesn't seem like there's really much milk there.
@snider83 It's certainly a lot better than the PS4 lineup this far. Some people forget, but the 360 had better exclusives in the beginning than the PS3 too. It was only in the later years that MS backed off and Sony had to keep pumping them out to move consoles. This time, the roles may be reversed, given the PS4's sales lead and momentum.
I was considering giving these guys another chance after their disgraceful effort on Ninja Gaiden 3. If the reviews were good enough, I probably would have ended up giving Yaiba a shot. Fortunately, I'll not have to risk further disappointment now.
