sorry if this is on the wrong board but one of my psn friends has a + sign next to thier name in the friends menu on the xmb, what does it mean? is it something to do with the ammount of trophies you have, i noticed he has over a thousand.

also mine has a little diamond shape next to it, but i'm thinking that might just indicate that it's my profile

so Basically from what i know if there no Modem plugged basically there no net going unless you'r net is coming from a 3G/4G / House next to you wifi Signal Typically G tough But The Wifi Work Still good : Iv at few occasion in MAG with it : so i plugged the Ethernet Cable solved it but that wire is in the way :P

The vast majority of people do not have internet connections fast enough to warrant a router any faster than G simply for internet usage and connecting via ethernet cable shouldn't make any difference. Now if you're planning on doing some media streaming or network data storage then by all means opt for an N router or higher.

Anyway, OP, if you don't connect a modem to your router then nothing on your network will have internet access, although the devices will have local network access.

in case you need to know the router is a linksys WRT54G, can i get a connection to my ps3 without a modem?
