@balrogbane: I agree but unfortunately it will not be us deciding, not us in the sense you and I at least, but in the broader sense of the market. I think people are happy to agree, they already have this mentality with phones, tablets, and other appliances.
@wanderingknight: Excuse me but in my books a collaboration between MS and N is worth of news indeed, and it could pave the way for a lot of other potential interaction. MS has been trying for years to get into the japanese market, I wonder if in their meetings they only talk about minecraft, I doubt it.
@bdrtfm: Is that what happens over at Polygon though? It seems to me they just have a clear code of conduct which leads to a civilised discussion. I have never been censored and I always said what I wanted to say, even when I disagreed with someone. But there is a way and way to disagree, just look two comments down there is a very good example :)
@monkey279: Ah I am glad that you get to decide that console companies do, so that settles it then. And what standard of quality would you be adopting, may I ask, for defining Apple better with their hardware than Sony?
@Bread_or_Decide:I read the whole thread and I have to wholeheartedly agree with @Bread_or_Decide, I just think his analysis is correct and games with a SP mode just have better chances at selling. Perhaps most people perceive them as two games in one and therefore better value, or think that if they don't like one half they will like the other one. As for myself for example I expect a single player mode from my games because I'm primarily looking for a SP experience, and if there is MP that's welcome, but I wouldn't buy a MP only game. That's only me but perhaps there are many others like me with this view.
@Rufus_the_rat: Don't be over dramatic. It's only an upgraded model of something which will stay on the market for a long time. And since when do companies have a responsiblity to ensure their product does not get an upgrade for x years? Apple *cough* apple
I really wish people would stop calling them "free". You pay a subscription fee, they are part of the service provided. It's like saying you get free lift maintenance in your building provided you pay your building service charge.
