[QUOTE="ocarina_jedi"]I wouldn't be so quick to say that Ordon is representative of Farore. I think it makes more sense to say that Faron serves that purpose. DrumminDoc

Actually they both do. Thats why there are 4 provinces but only 3 goddesses. Faron + Ordon = Farore

The other provinces have their goddesses right in the name too.

You can find them in some secret grottos too.  I never thought it was very important to catch them (though I have), since they aren't even recorded in your fishing journal.  It says that they are 'an illegal fish.'

[QUOTE="ocarina_jedi"]As far as timeline theories go, I recommend this. Head over to www.gametrailers.com and search for 'zelda retrospective part 6' (the first 5 parts of the retrospective were examinations of all of the games leading up to Twilight Princess). This video is their own idea of the timeline. I don't agree with it 100% (in fact I disagree with a lot of it, and now that Twilight Princess is out, it disproves more of it), but it's a good starting point for making a timeline.Gary_Jinfield

You'd be better off forming your own opinion really by playing the games and coming to your own conclusions as a starting point. If anyone really wants to learn more about timelines, I would suggest this thread , although it is out of date and slightly bias towards a particular timeline.

I have played all of the games (except for Four Swords, and I haven't finished Adventure of Link), but I thought that that video brought up a few good ideas that I hadn't thought of, even though I have played just about the entire series.  Anybody else in need of a similar starting point could look here, I feel.

Of course there will be a future Wii Zelda.  Each Nintendo console has had an original Zelda title, and so far all the Wii has had is a port of a Gamecube title.

I believe LA must be a direct sequel to ALttP. The intro shows quite clear it's a sequel (sailing a way from hyrule for new adventures). I think that was mentioned in the game book too. Anyway, the latest game before LA was ALttP, so it is most likely that LA was a direct sequel to that one. Also, even if it was released after OoT (was it?) I think LA originally was the second Zelda game developed for the SNES that was never completed.

LA definitely came out before OoT.  While it did come out right after aLttP, and was supposed to be a direct sequel, it doesn't neccessarily have to be.  The booklet just says how Link had defeated Ganon, but the people of Hyrule were afraid that he might be reborn, or another threat might arise.  To calm their fears, Link went on a journey to become stronger.  It doesn't actually say anything about aLttP.  Thus, the game can theoretically fit anywhere in the Timeline immediately after Ganon has been defeated.  I personally put LA after the Oracle series.

"TP is a modern day version of OoT" - GamerGirlPwnz

Is the majority of this board really so young that a game that came out only 9 years ago is considered to be old-fashioned?? OoT is an old game, yes, but I don't think it's right to say that TP is a modernization of it. OoT, MM, WW and TP all are the same type of game. Is TP (or any of the aforementioned games) a modernization of LoZ? I think that is a reasonable statement.

(BTW, I loved the dungeons in both games for a variety of reasons, most notably because they were both packed to the brim with originality. TP may follow the exact same formula as OoT, but it had all kinds of new puzzles and approaches that I loved.)

I'll assume you mean 'The top 5 BEST Zeldas ever,' since they were all good.  Except for AoL.  I'm not so crazy about that one.  Anyway, my top 5:

1)  OoT
2)  TP
3)  WW
4)  MM
5)  aLttP

I still love the 2D games just as much.  That's where the series started, and they still have a fantastic appeal to them.  My first Zelda was actually LA, and it just barely misses my top 5.

I never actually played Master Quest, but I believe the difference is that in MQ, the dungeons were reworked with stronger enemies and more difficult puzzles.  Other than that I think they are identical.
