You want to know what's inconvenient? Going to the store when I want a new 360 or PS3 game. Thank God for Steam.

So is the area where Eskimo's live, your point? Glaciers may be made of fresh water but the surrounding ocean sure isn't. Again, excuses, these people deserve none whatsoever. Leave them to their fates.

MoetWitMedusa

Your an ignroant fool who should be grateful that your stupid ass was born in a coutnry with everything you need. You have the nerve to tlel them to leave them to their fates. Id rather save one little african orphan who has no food than yourself. Please go end yourself you worthless human being.

I don't need saving, and neither do they. Unlike them I don't rely on blowhards such as yourself for help. I make my own way without assistance. As an addendum, if you're going to call someone "ignroant" (sic) and "stupid" you might want to look at yourself when you can't even formulate a simple sentence with words spelled correctly.

[QUOTE="kuraimen"][QUOTE="Nibroc420"] The world isn't fair.At all.Period. If person B is unable to survive in the world they live in, they wont survive. Feeding them your table scraps and bottled water isn't going to save them and cause their economy to suddenly shift in a good way, nor will it educate them on how they can acquire their own food and water.blackacidevil96

The world is as fair or unfair as people want it to be. There's no universal law which says unfairness must rule in our societies. Maybe it is time we develop our ethics instead of just developing our technology and science and expecting them to save us (a thing I find hard to believe since we have more science and knowledge now than in any other time in history and we also have more problems now than in any other time in history). I'm not talking about table scraps, that's what western nations do now. I'm talking about giving them the main dish, I'm talking about even working for them. Western nations used them as slaves for years maybe we should give them the worked hours back. I already said that is not going to happen not in this world of hypocrisy. But it would be only fair for it to happen.

you clearly blind on how the world opperates. by the same logic, they should work for themselves, cause you know....they caught and sold eachother to the western slave trade....so yeah.... you know what we should do. not give them the main dish. we should show them how to make the main dish. what part is hard to understand? what youre talking about sounds a lot like communism. and weve seen how that works out (communism cant work on large economic systems.)

No, don't even show them how to make the main dish. Let them figure it out or perish, we have attempted to assist these people more than enough. It's time we let them attempt to walk on their own or allow them to falter and lag behind forever.

[QUOTE="Nibroc420"][QUOTE="kuraimen"] I understand. Food drops is a hypocrite measure, a feel good measure. A real compromise would involve a much bigger sacrifice from western nations a sacrifice that will cost their own population quality of life probably. That would be the right thing to do in my view, will it happen? I wouldn't hold my breath.kuraimen

How's that "The right thing to do" ? Person A has a job and a family, works all day to feed said family. Person B has no job, 15 kids, and aids. Because you feel sorry for person B, you believe hard working person A should sacrifice some of their quality of life so person B can live off it. Why dont we just teach person B how to do things for them-self?

Yes, since person A can survive with a much lower quality of life they have now and much of that quality of life is thanks to all the looting and robbing their government have done to person B's country I think it would be only fair.

You obviously have a skewed world view then. I shouldn't have to sacrifice anything for someone on the other side of the planet because they refuse to care for themselves. Empathy is a crutch and people such as yourself will learn it the hard way.

[QUOTE="sonicare"] Desalinization is very expensive. If it was as simple as you make it out to be, we'd be doing it in the states for California - they have massive shortages. The problem with Africa is a combination of poor resources and poor governments. It's hard to just change your society overnight, especially when the despotic regimes are well armed and the people are destitute and starving. Some say the rulers keep them that way to stay in power.

sonicare

Uh...it is that simple...try looking it up. If these people weren't so reliant on others maybe they would have some ingenuity and come up with solutions for themselves.

Ok, show me an article showing how cheap and simpledesalinization is and why it isnt being utilized for the southwest. California has major water issues, why dont they just use the whole Pacific?

http://blogs.howstuffworks.com/2009/05/21/how-do-they-desalinate-water-to-make-it-drinkable/

Three of those methods use heat energy, two of them boiling, the other the sun causing the evaporation of water in to a plastic cone device.

YOU ARE MAKING EXCUSES FOR THESE PEOPLE, LEAVE THEM TO THEIR FATES.

You can boil water and collect the condensed fluid, salt free. Again, excuses are being made for them.

[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]Yes, who would think that an inexhaustible supply of water would make people able to battle the elements better?

OrkHammer007

The Horn of Africa is located right on the ocean and is much more fertile than the Antarctic areas that Eskimo type peoples inhabit.

You mean "Arctic."

My mistake, thanks for the correction. I get the two mixed up at times.
