[QUOTE="truegamer1988"]

I know im kind of late to the party but i wanted to know how many of my fellow gamespotters felt the same way? Im 3 hours into the game and im having a great time. I simply dont understand the 6.5 :(

Gargus

Now this might be a shocking concept to you so please, prepare yourself......reviews are based on a individuals opinion.....I know crazy right? Its so insane that someone may not actually agree with what you think and hold on now.......may actually be willing to say that they dont like exactly what you think they should.....whew take a deep breath.

Ok now with the sarcasm off, why do you even give a shit what score someone gives something? How does someones opinion of a game actually matter to you? If you like the game thats wonderful, go enjoy it.

But if someone like me for instance who doesnt like the game at all I am not wrong for not liking it, just like you arent wrong for liking it. Only difference is I dont run around saying "People like this game? You guys are wrong because I dont like it so you shouldnt either!"

And you know what? I really dont like it. But now that you know that, look and see if your life has personally changed because of it? Did the actual game itself change? Does my opinion on it matter? The answer to all of those is no.

Now, grow up and focus on what makes you happy instead of trying to make things that make you unhappy a priority.

Yes its just an opinion but people have the right to call someone out over it if they think their opinion is shit. No your life isn't going to change over the score but it's an interesting point of conversation, I mean why else would you bother going on a forum if you don't want to discuss games with people and other peoples taste of games? What a completely overreactive post.

FTR I liked Luigi's mansion a lot, but the lack of checkpoints are are a bit of an issue. I don't mind the mission structure too much as it makes sense for a portable handheld game to contain bitesize missions which you can play for for 20-30 minutes then jump back out of again. I can understand how people think these features make the game somewhat flawed but I can't see how u can give this below an 8 tbh, game is quality.

http://www.cracked.com/article_20118_5-things-nobody-tells-you-about-living-in-japan.html

You should read this, TC. And I think I read somewhere people who enjoy anime are looked down upon (probably read that on Cracked too).

Iceozo

Having lived in Japan for 3 years I have to say I disagree with parts of that article, in particular the "barely be able to buy food or get around" part. The train station maps are all written in English as well as Japanese and as for food, well all you really need to do in a restaurant is point at what you want and you've got your food. The you'll always be an outsider part is fairly spot on though. People in Japan just don't see very many foreign people that when they do they aren't quite sure how to treat them a lot of the time.

Performance enhancement drugs do not work that way. I can take all the EPO and cortisone in the world and I still wouldn't be able to win anything because I am not trained or fit enough to do it. Performance enhancement drugs are supposed to give properly trained, fit and skilled athletes an edge, a push, and yes, they are omnipresent throughout all kinds of professional sport events. Then again, some imbeciles have been stuck on "ELVIS DIDN'T DO NO DRUGS!" mode since the 70s, so, have at it. Enjoy stupidity and naïvety.

ninedot

The point is that they're all fit individuals, so simply taking some of these substances WOULD help them as you've described above. When you agree to partake in any of these competitive sporting events, you're agreeing to the rules put forth by the organization that sanctions it. It's cheating. Simple and concise. You're also assuming that there are no individuals who AREN'T on steroids.

You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion; however, the logic behind your opinion is completely wrong. It's not cheating - its "breaking the rules". Cheating is putting yourself at an advantage over others - which he was not. It's been rumored for ages that many other cyclists were using performance enhaving drugs and becuase of technology these days and legislation around people privacy, individuals are almost guaranteed to be able to avoid any sort of detection if their extremely careful. However, there is always a risk and sometimes people do get caught - and unfortunately it was Lance's time. But again, he was not cheating. If he didn't use performance enhancing drugs, then he would NEVER have won any single race as the other racers who were using performance enchanging drugs would have beat him. Thus, if anything, it was putting him on par with the other "using" competitors, which you'd be supprised is probably quite a lot. Secondly, Lance was well into his late 30's during his competitions (now being 41), and so his testosterone levels were well below their prime - testosterone levels peak around age 21, and also athletes performance peaks around the early 20's. Thus, for him to be taking testosterone (i.e., steroids) would only raise his testosterone levels to that of the younger cyclists. They wouldn't go much higher than that otherwise the muscle gain on his legs would be unusually noticable. Without performance enhancing drugs, now a days, people are unlikely to win in certain sports. The most obvious example of this is bodybuilding. It's against the rules for body builders to use steroids. But do you honestly think that these guys are natural? I'm sure Ronny Coleman does more than eat his potatoes and steak. Therefore, Lance's use of performance enhancing drugs doesn't explain why he won his races - he is an amazing cyclist, period.

Breaking the rules = cheating, regardless of what the other athletes are doing.

[QUOTE="PernicioEnigma"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]Imagine that....someone that wants to commit a crime finds a way to do so. In other news....the sun is hot.LJS9502_basic
I agree! People who really want to commit a crime are probably going to do so whether we try and stop them or not, so why even try, right?

If you think you can stop all crime you are either ignorant or stupid.....

missing the point, it isn't about stopping ALL crime, its about trying to find ways to reduce crime, wtf is the harm in at least trying?

[QUOTE="walkingdream"]

[QUOTE="Fightingfan"] Australia did that and their rape and overall crime rate skyrocketed; look at Mexico too. Fightingfan

Ugh most people here in Australia would agree that the Howard Governments quick and swiftful movement of gun control was an excellent decision. We have not had a mass shooting since, also i would like to see some proof that because of a gun control crime rates and rape have gone up? Even if true i very much doubt it's because of our severe gun control.

Honestly most/rest of the first world find Americas reluctency on gun control is ridiculous, in fact pretty unfamothable.

I support a ban entirely, however i am not an American.

A complete ban would mean only police and criminals have guns.

Yeap thats how most of the world works funnily enough

Not sure why mainstream music is so maligned by certain people, sometimes its nice to listen to a simple, catchy, upbeat song which doesn't require a lot of thought. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely more into indie rock, but listening to pop also makes a nice change up.

Its natural for people to care more about things that happen in their own backyard then things that happen abroad. People also tend to feel more shocked about incidents happening in places that should be considered safe, i.e you don't expect white kids to be gunned down at a school in America. Where as in war torn middle eastern countries kids getting accidentally killed as bad as it is, is not as unexpected to most people, therefore the issue gets desensitised.

A presenter on state broadcaster NHK told viewers: "Remember last year's quake and tsunami. Call on your neighbours and flee to higher ground now!"

What a ridiculous comparison, the 2011 quake was about 1000 times stronger. I really hate sensationalist media

rastotm

A 7.3 is still a strong quake, and given what happened 2 years ago I don't see whats so sensationalist about that comment...

All drugs should be legalised. What I put into my body is no business of the government's. Those authoritarian meddling puppets should stay the f*ck out.MrPraline

LOL not sure if serious? it kind of is if you take meth and start acting like a muppet in public

I guess theres not a strong reason to keep marijuana illegal but personally I'd rather it not be legalised, just likely means more annoying stoners.
