Eddie, I'm really not one of the people that despises you. But, this is the issue I have with most of these gaming websites. They come out with some non-sense like this, but then don't do any sort of follow-up research to provide further evidence that it's actually true. Just because this Sony rep says it, you believe it? Do you ask the "tough" follow-up questions and ask for the numbers supporting such a claim?

If "shooter fans" have truly moved over to PS4, what is the basis for such a claim? Percentage of players playing FPS games at any given time? Number of units sold for a given title, per install base? Even if you were willing to share those numbers, you couldn't make that statement inarguably unless you had the same numbers from your competition (which you don't). You can't simply say that because you've sold more copies of, say, Destiny (for example) means that you're the console of choice. Because you've got a 2:1 install base over the competition. Absolute numbers don't mean anything given the sales disparity in hardware.

C'mon guys. Be BETTER journalists! Research your stories more. Provide compelling evidence to back up what you're saying.

@ZamboniGamer: You got a link to back that up? Because if you don't, you're talking out of your a$$ just as much as the Sony rep in this article.

*sniff* *sniff* George Lucas? Are you around here?? This really smells like some Lucas type shiz. Let them come out with the same thing on current gen in another six months, and I'll know he was involved for sure!

I wonder if Gearbox is starting to worry about Battleborn...and if they are hedging their bets for a way to continue bringing in some revenue off the Borderlands franchise.

@kennypowers24: Yeah, I bet if you looked closely at the serial number or other information on them, you'll find Manufacturing dates from more than 12 months ago, I'm sure.

These are units that were sent back by retailers as unsold inventory. Criminy, that is a seriously pathetic deal!

Well, if we assume $60 a pop, that would mean they sold 6.6 million copies of the game. But, of course we know there were limited/special editions of the game at a higher price. I'm not sure if that also included Halo bundles which were priced at, what, $400 a pop?

So, let's just kinda reduce it and for the sake of simplicity let's put it at 5mill copies of the game. Let's assume that there are 16mill XBO consoles. That's about a 30% uptake. That's pretty damn good, I would say...for the first week?

Now, the other number I would like to see? How many active users (online, gaming) are playing Destiny vs. Halo 5. Just on the XBO. That would also be an interesting number to see.

@LPDisturbedHU: Please, stay away from knives and other sharp objects. You seem like the kind of person that would cut off their nose to spite their face.

Let me guess, you're buying Rise of the Tomb Raider next Tuesday!

@emprahtoddler: Let's really analyze your comment. Why would someone buy an Xbox One to play Xbox 360 games? Either, (a) they already have an Xbox 360...and the games, or (b) they never bought into LAST gen because they were cheap bastards and wanted to wait until the system got much cheaper. So, now here they are at a crossroads...the Xbox 360 has been available for $250 for years now. But you think they're going to go out and buy an Xbox One for $350 AND also buy the 360 games to play on it?

Don't be silly. The people you're referring to are unicorns...that population doesn't exist. If they wanted to play 360 games, they've already got a 360 to do so.

@xenomorphalien: Absolutely it's desperate. You think you would have gotten it if MS was at sales parity with the PS4? No way. Bottom line is most people are sitting here speaking anecdotally about how awesome it's going to be to sit around and play last generation's games. It's akin to the JRPG fans that sit around talking about how awesome some obscure Japanese released version of a game would sell like gangbusters stateside, if they would just regionalize/translate it. Fact is, they're speaking as an extremely small sub-section of the gaming population. Just because they and all of their friends wanted to play it, doesn't mean they represent the majority.

If the Xbox One has "the greatest games lineup in history" being released this holiday season, who's going to have time for backward compatibility anyway? Seriously...it's the same thing as Rare Replay. I'll bet if you looked at the *actual* time played of that game on the console (and MS has those statistics) it would be very low. Just because it sold well, doesn't mean people played it for more than 1 or 2 hours before the nostalgia wore off. Same goes for backward compatibility.

I've got the solution! --> Stop reporting subscriber numbers. It seems to be what Microsoft and Activision Blizzard are doing, when they're showing declining numbers. You only have to report the POSITIVES guys!

Then again, what does it matter? Your stock was up 2.5% today! Hell, I think they were up almost 10% intra-day at some point. Makes all the sense in the world, doesn't it?? F**K Wall Street; they've clearly got their head up their a$$es.
