Sonic CD fun

Recently I've acquired a Mega Drive II, Mega CD II and Master System Converter II - so naturally, the first thing I do is play lots of Sonic CD. A game I played in my youth and totally adored. The Mega-CD version has different music to all the other versions and this is the one I grew up with, so for me it's the true version of the game and boy am I glad to hear these blissful tracks once again. So much so, that I've shared a few of them with you my fellow Gamespotters in my user videos section. There are several songs in amongst all my easter egg videos, so if you liked the Sonic CD music, then go check them out and leave me some comments.

I wonder what I'll play next... hmmm....

Command and Conquer Cinema

[video=dXQxnzCr5b4Fuz7f]

Welcome all to Command & Conquer Cinema, NOD edition. There seems to be something wrong with Glitchspot's uploading system at the moment, so I stuck this movie on TV.com - I'll try and get it over to Gamespot once the issues disappear.

Hope you enjoy this video - I know the quality isn't all that great, but I don't have a fancy video capture card thingie-majiggy so I just used my webcam. You don't really notice it once you get into it, I find. Much like watching TV, you forget that there's a TV around the image you're viewing if you know what I mean.

Anywho - I made this for those who love the oh-so-cheesey FMVs from the Command & Conquer series. I love them, I hope you do too. This shows all the clips from the NOD disc. It starts at the start, with me entering in the cheat (so you can do it at home too if you haven't already), then onto the credits, then the in-game FMVs, then the intro sequence - not an entirely orthodox order I realise, but that's the way it does things when you enter the code.

If you like this movie, then please leave comments - and let me know just how much you adore these shoddy movies too!

F.E.A.R. Gameplay Marathon

[video=dXQxnjas5b4MvDTZ]

Well, not really a marathon, as I'll be taking plenty of breaks whilst going through - lol - but this is going to be my run through of F.E.A.R. for the xbox 360, which I will be playing through in the coming days/weeks.  It's not the first time I've tried to play the game through, I've also tried it on the PC previously, but I didn't get very far as I had to sell the PC, so here's take two on the 360, hopefully I'll get further this time.

If you enjoy watching this, or have anything similar yourself, drop me a comment, I'd love to hear form anyone, be it a positive or a negative comment. I really enjoy watching other people play computer game, so if there's anyone else out there that is liek me, hopefully you'll enjoy watching this!

Next vid will be uploaded soon, keep your eyes peeled for more updates.

Playing Saints Row with the Evil Cars mode on

[video=JHFmlTv95bkLvT7Y]

Oh! My! God!   I haven't had this much fun in sooo long.  Anyone who has Saints Row simply has to try this!  haha

I was so impressed by how hard I was laughing that I decided to turn on my webcam and share some of the fun. I could have done this all day, but we called it a night after a good few hours of solid gaming (read: messing about!).

Hope you enjoy the movie - at least a little  :)

GT Ep 4 - Super Mario Bros

[video=cHA6xWD_5bsNvDDZ]

What's the fastest way to test a computer game that you've already played? A speed run of course.

Here I play through Mario as fast as I can. Shame I was never any good at Mario though. It's much harder to play a game when you don't know what's coming next and also when it's going so fast!

Well, at least I beat one level  :P

Hope you like this.

GT Ep 3 - Greatest Game on the NES

[video=IXA6lTSv5bsNvDPX]

Hey all - here's part 3, well rather episode 3 (it's shorter, uses less characters, and sounds a little cooler you see) of my GT series. In this episode, I get my hands on possibly the greatest game for the NES.

I hope you enjoy it!

Please leave me comments.

GT Part 2 - Paperboy (NES)

[video=cCNnlDr75bsNvTLb]

Okay, last one for the night, you'll probably be glad to hear. This time I'm playing a bit of Paperboy.

I tried to improve the picture for the TV, though it appears to change to whatever setting it wants - stupid camera. Ah well - at least the game's a little bit closer up this time.

I don't think anything particularly exciting happens in this "episode" - so you probably shouldn't watch it, it's quite dull.

If you have watched any of these, let me know what you think of them and give me some ideas to liven them up perhaps - I think I might losing interest already - but we'll see.

GT Part 1 - Asterix (NES)

[video=dSFmxDf75bsNvTXf]

Part 1 of my video game testing erm... feature, is Asterix for the NES. No particular reason, I just pulled it out of the box and thought, well, I'll play that first.

According to the Gamespot database Asterix doesn't actually exist on the NES - well, I think that might be a bit of a porky as this video evidence proves - though perhaps it ought not to!

I think I might have played this before as a kid as several of the gameplay elements seem familiar. Although, that could just be because it's ripped off some other game perhaps - who knows? Well, probably someone does, but I don't.

The reason I put that it might be offensive is because I often swear when playing video games without realising - if you saw my Jetpac Nostalgia video, you'll know what I mean - so sorry in advance if I do (It's really not intentional! :oops: )

This test comes to an unexpected finalé - I hope you enjoy it. Also, GT stands for "Game Testing" and also sorry for the shoddy picture, I'll try and do better next time.

P.S. Those little horses at the side of the TV aren't mine, before you start  :P

NESmania

[video=diY2njX75bsNvTTe]

Whilst testing a great big box of NES games and commenting to myself, my gf thought I was going mad. So, thought I, this could be quite interesting to post as a video. Just small clips of me testing games and muttering on about how much I dislike them, perhaps I'll even like a few - who knows?!

This first video is just an introduction to this new feature, that I hope to keep running for a while. Well, until I get bored of it, which, knowing me, probably won't take all that long.

Anyway, hope you enjoy some of my ramblings, if not, just say so. I prefer negative comments to no comments at all (I think).

It's all about the UK

Whilst watching the Snooker World Championship on TV with my computer in front of me, I really felt that a good bit of multitasking would liven up my day. So, I had a look through my games collection for a game that is fun to play but doesn't need your constant attention.

Initially, Sims 2 sprung to mind (which I've now upgraded with the Family Fun Stuff by the way), but I've been playing that a lot of late and I felt like a change. "Aha!", I thought as I came across the Sports Interactive folder in my Start Menu.

Football Manager 2006, or Worldwide Soccer Manager as the GS community might know it better, is a brilliant and rather addictive football management game (as the name hints ;)) yet, it takes forever to load on my mediocre laptop (Dell Inspiron 9100) so seemed like it was just the game for the occasion. Having just watched Liverpool knock Chelsea out of the FA Cup, I was very much up for a bit of footy action too!

So, for the past few days I've been sat in front of my laptop, relaxing on my couch, with the snooker on the telly - I'm sure there are more productive ways to spend one's day, but I don't really care!

Then today, I've booted up my computer (I lie actually, it's always on) and opened up Firefox to be greeted by my homepage, complete.gamespot.com as usual - but there's a something different about it:

There's a big UK symbol underneat the GameSpot logo (also, it seems I'm a Level 13 GS member now - hooray for me! :D) - and now, a few hours later, after browsing every thread I could find relating to this, I think I can safely say I'm rather chuffed to be a GS member today.

I'm really looking forward to all the UK content. I used to browse GameSpot back in the days of gamespot.co.uk and its content was just what I wanted. Then it passed away sometime in 2002 and I was left longing UK content. There simply aren't any good gaming sites for the UK. Finally, GSUK should fill the void and I wish them all the best with it :)

I'm expecting games like Football Manager 2006, which now has the UK game art and original title on GS for us limeys:

To have "the full works" reviews. This game was top of the UK games charts for a good 3 months if I recall correctly, it's this sort of thing that GameSpot US was lacking and it's this sort of thing I expect we'll get now. The future's bright! :)

Anyway, that'll do for Blog 2 - hope you all (I'm guessing that's probably just FernandoDANTE :P) enjoyed this update!

Tally ho chaps! Until next time! :D
