@TheDarkNut: To be a high priced actor, you've gotta be highly in demand. Mark Hamill's net worth in 2015 was 6 million dollars which tells me he's probably on the lower end of the pay scale as far as actors go. I'm sure Netflix could afford him, but I am not so sure he would be a great choice. I feel like someone else could do it better... I'm not crazy about his acting.
Gamespot, I just wanted to let you know I find this article to be disappointing and short sighted. This kind of article seems to have little merit to me other than to purposely be provoke people. We have enough problem with toxicity, fanboyism, and people arguing over subjective things like this... Why purposely feed into this?
These are both great games, and posting an article "asking which is better" seems pretty juvenile and would be more fitting as somones blog than a journalistic article....
I definitely find myself agreeing with the reviewer on most points here. I played through most of the campaign in co-op mode, and we had a TON of fun. I do wish that the progress wasn't so 'one-sided', because by primarily playing my friends game as host I found my own game ending up quite behind and having to 'repeat' a lot of things. Not a huge problem, but still noteworthy.
I did find the re-spawn rate and the enemy in general to be incredibly aggressive- they could tone that down quite a bit.
One of my favorite things about this game is the LACK of the typical radar/mini-map. With this in most games you become so reliant on it for navigation. I didn't miss the radar screen at all in this game, and really felt like I could just enjoy the world more by navigating by sight around.
I also wish they did a bit more with the narrative, but all in all- this is by far one of the slickest far cry games, very attractive looking and a ton of fun. With the release of Assassins Creed Origins and this game Ubisoft is really turning out some quality releases lately.
Agreed, me and my mate were watching some of the trailers- it looks like a really epic adventure. I haven't ever been that interested in the series, but I'm definitely excited for this one.
As a film, it's on the weak side. As a gamer, the fan service they do throughout the film made the film fun for me to watch, but if I hadn't played the game I would have a pretty low opinion of the film. They really didn't have a big enough budget to accomplish the kind of film they wanted to do- so the action was a bit underwhelming. As everyone is saying, Alicia Vikander nail's Lara and definitely became Lara Croft easily in my mind by the end of the film. It's too bad they couldn't deliver a film for her to be in that is on the same level as she is. It's really a shame, actually, Tomb Raider deserved better than this.
This is becoming one of my favorite series, looking forward to seeing this next installment. Visually, Tomb Raider is among the best of the best, and it's not just another pretty face- I also think the TR series is one of the few games to match its amazing visuals with super fun gameplay. Let's just work on tightening up those storylines though, eh?
@gotrekfabian: my guess is that they wouldn't be able to get as many reviews up as fast as they do currently if they didn't also use contract/freelance journalists in addition to the regulars.
