The point in God of War games is that you are playing as the antagonist the whole time, there's nothing heroic about Kratos, a character who basically brings death and destruction with him everywhere he goes.
You may take whatever you feel into consideration. If you feel that the characters from Final Fantasy has the most depth, and you feel that is more important than the muscle power of Serious Sam (thats Serious) or Duke.. you can of course choose to say FF.
Listen, while Master Chief may be badass he is not a good character by any means. He has no depth, you don't see his face, and all he does is just spray the flood/covenant. No, Halo is a good game but Master Chief is not a good character. I will give two great characters though: Kreia (KOTOR 2) and Kratos (God of War).

I think many people like Master Chief just because they Can'nt see his face, Kratos is good ;) no one has mentioned Duke Nukem when it comes to beeing BAD ASS?! Balls of steel ;)
Wel, who is the most superior gaming character? Is it Master Chief? Solid Snake? Super(ior)Mario? Link? or any other gaming character seene on whatever console :) ? Any character is possible, even Yoshi the "nogender" dragon...thing.
Personal Favourites: Gabriel Logan (Syphon Filter), Naked Snake (MGS3), Dante (DMC3, only played it for a day, but he was awesome) and Leon S. Kennedy :)
As toffe_c4 said, the two last games has not been that great, but the idea of a perfect assassination game triggers me. Assassins Creed was great, but screwed up with the Si-Fi. I just hope Hitman 5 takes it farher :)

Yeah i to get aroused by the thought of a greatly made assassination game, and the hitman series is the closest we got, but tell me what you would have changed and added or even taken away?
Assassins Creed had the physics engine, Hitman had the many ways of completing a mission with creativity, Assassins Creed put to the future with more of an "Ninja Gaiden" ****maybe? not 100% sure yet.
Ehm, Assassins creed is set in the futura AND the past, the sci-fi element of assassins creed wont bother you i can garante you, i borrowed it and and actually had to use a whole week to complete it, it was LONG, and GOOD, and it was a great game, it was nothing like ninja gaiden, and. it puts also gives you a great deal of ways to complete your objective, and you wont se any other games with a physics engine that sweet, i suggest you try it before you say too much, you'll love it immensly. Andt the end has a HUGE plot twist making me drool lika a maniac for a sequal.
The only downside of it is it has allot of repetition, but when u master the fighting and the different ways to progress trough the storyline the game really sucks you in.
