weeell thinking about last 10 years, you'll have to go back to 1998 right? what came out in 1998?
- Starcraft (released: april 1 1998 )
- Grand Theft Auto (released: Feb 28 1998 )
- Tekken 3 (release april 29 1998 )
- Metal Gear Solid (Sep 30 1998 )
- Delta Force (Sep 30 1998 )
- Half life (oct 31 1998 )
- Zelda: Ocarina of time (nov 23 1998 )

As you all probably have figured by now, 1998 was a great year for gamers, it was for me, becouse that was the year i got my Zelda: Ocarina of time game, and i swear by god that is the best game i have ever played. i give this the ultimate spot in my collection. it had everything, graphics, gameplay, atmosphere, feeling, i mean, it had everything .
In a review gamespot made, this was the header:

"Ocarina of Time definitely follows in the footsteps of the previous games, and the result is a game that can't be called anything other than flawless."

And i agree, what was there to complain about? i cant say a single thing, still today, even though the graphics are outdated, it is still allot better then most games today, and i bet allot of you agree, and think about that! a game kickin ass 10 years later, its one of a few, like Counter Strike, Starcraft and Warcraft, a few games thats still going strong even their quite outdated, but all those games comes with online, updates and stuff, but zelda is still zelda.

So i think i made my point, But i still have to mention a few games as groundbreaking games (in my opinion)
- Tom Clansy's Rainbow Six Vegas
- Fallaout
- Starcraft
- Metal Gear Solid Series
- Grand Theft Auto Series

And i have to say, you should ask about games for the last 25 years, couse i can still mention Super Mario, Zelda, Tomb raider and many other.

As toffe_c4 said, the two last games has not been that great, but the idea of a perfect assassination game triggers me. Assassins Creed was great, but screwed up with the Si-Fi. I just hope Hitman 5 takes it farher :)

Yeah i to get aroused by the thought of a greatly made assassination game, and the hitman series is the closest we got, but tell me what you would have changed and added or even taken away?

Assassins Creed had the physics engine, Hitman had the many ways of completing a mission with creativity, Assassins Creed put to the future with more of an "Ninja Gaiden" ****maybe? not 100% sure yet.

Ehm, Assassins creed is set in the futura AND the past, the sci-fi element of assassins creed wont bother you i can garante you, i borrowed it and and actually had to use a whole week to complete it, it was LONG, and GOOD, and it was a great game, it was nothing like ninja gaiden, and. it puts also gives you a great deal of ways to complete your objective, and you wont se any other games with a physics engine that sweet, i suggest you try it before you say too much, you'll love it immensly.
Andt the end has a HUGE plot twist making me drool lika a maniac for a sequal.

The only downside of it is it has allot of repetition, but when u master the fighting and the different ways to progress trough the storyline the game really sucks you in.

Skaff meg en PS3 så ska vi vell få ordna det ;)

What games has revolutionised the gaming industry in the later years? In terms of gameplay, graphics, sound and cinematics ect. :)

Personally when it comes to gameplay: Starcraft

Graphics: Half Life 2

Sound & Cinematics: Bioshock

Any opinions in the matter?

I think that in the end it just comes down to the persons psyche. Video-games alone is for someone a place to hide when having a hard time to socialise, not the reason for him/her's lack of low social life.

But to answer the question, yes i think it effects you. But how much depends on the person itself.
