I'd get HR, LR is the RPG with a hodgepodge of NIS characters in 3d right? I'm expecting LR to be about as good as cross edge.

I wouldn't buy MW2. I'd get BFBC2 or MAG instead, both much better than MW2 imo.

Personally if IGN gives a 7.5 I take it as a 8.5.

Gamespot gives a 8, I take it as a 8.

Though I am definitely getting it, the reported game play length sounds troubling. On a normal level, 12-15 hours a play through just sounds so short. Hasn't Heavenly Sword tanked because of the short game play and for many it felt like a elaborate demo?

I consider 8~10 hours average for any action game like this. 12-15 hours seems like a good long length to me, but i was never interested in this or GOW.

IGN has tended to be pretty tough on JRPGs lately. If it just sticks to the cliches and doesn't do anything innovative, they're not going to give it a good score, which I think is a good thing. JRPGs really need to start learning some new tricks. WRPGs have taken over this gen, because they've just been better and more innovative.

amsfm6

idk if either side has been more innovative really, but i think the new tech has just benefited the design of WRPGs a lot more than JRPGs. dragon age was the same thing as Baulders gate just with more and better dialog trees, Oblivion and Fallout 3 are basically the same as previous Elder scroll games. the only one I'm not sure about is Mass Effect. what other WRPGs are there? on the Japanese side I think the best and most innovative games have been Demon's Soul and Valkyria Chronicles, but these aren't traditional JRPGs either. I can't say anything about mistwalker games since i don't own a 360, but those seem to be the best traditional JRPGs this gen.

[QUOTE="paperdollparade"]actually if you watch the gametrailers review they do a good job at pointing out some of the problems with the combat system. . .mostly the enemies attacking you from across the room behind a closed door. other than that though i don't think there is much of a problem with the combat. emitsu97
I did watch the review. I've had my fair share of goblins hit me from across the map in FFXI.

ya from the review though I'm not sure if he aggro'd them from behind the door or ran back and shut it after he did. first case i'd have a problem with, second case not so much. and i do remember being hit from a fair distance in FFXI as well.

[QUOTE="uRan_Ehr"]And here's giantbombs quick-look. I don't get what's supposed to be wrong with the combat :?emitsu97
It's funny since it's pretty much the same combat system that's in FFXI and FFXII.

Some of you are acting like you've never played games with great unique stories before. The con of having a predictable story is a legit con. Once you're used to great stories, you shouldn't care too much about predictable ones. Defending the game by saying the story is predictable in every game, is an insult to every game that has an original plot.

Symphonycometh

In general there aren't many JRPGs with unique stories. they have all been pretty much the same since I started playing JRPGs. the big exceptions being the SMT games, Xenogears, and cannon final fantasy games. last gen there wasn't one JRPG outside of the SMT and FF games last that I considered to have a great story. also none of the stories in previous level-5 games have been very notable (except for maybe Rogue Galaxy and Jeanne D'arc I'm in the middle of both at the moment so i cant say for certain one way or the other). If you enjoyed Dark cloud i doubt it was for the story. I really wish JRPG devs would just start hiring real writers, and writing more mature/complex stories.

I'm actually really glad they're doing downloadable episodes instead of trying to get this into a full retail game. I have a feeling it'll be better that way.

Also, I really wish they'd make Sonic Adventure 3. Call me crazy, but Sonic Adventure 2 is my favorite Sonic game of all time.

Symphonycometh
You're not crazy. SA2 was amazing when it came to the Sonic and Shadow levels.

too bad you had to slog through terrible tails, knuckles and their evil counter parts to get to them. thats the main reason I will never finish that game.

Finally Sega is going to get it right (hopefully). nothing beats the 2d sonic games, sonic Adventure did a few things right bringing sonic to 3d but the quality was still notably worse than it's 2d predecessors. can't wait for this release. it's going to be an instant buy for me.

[QUOTE="yuuki88"]Eh... I still believe WKC deserves higher rating than 6. There are boring games like Oblivion where it's gotten 9.......ridiculous...... -_-''Erik729

Look, everyone! An idiot!

you really shouldn't point yourself out like that, even if it's true. tsk tsk
