@xsubtownerx That's... Really awful logic. How in the world do the number of successful kickstarters dictate whether a publisher can be in any way useful?

Some people are just too damn dense... All he's really saying is that Kickstarter isn't the 'be all, end all' of the industry, and that while it works well for some, other methods work too. That's it. And there's really no rational argument against that point.

Doesn't look at all like they used a working game here...

@AlmostHaslem @parrot_of_adun @rgsniper1 Fortunately, I haven't had to, nor am I likely to experience the effects of a natural disaster. So needless to say, that changes what I may or may not value in that regard. However during normal operation, I've never noticed any significant difference in the performance of either service. As to hacking, the worst I've experienced on PSN was that infamous shutdown from a breach, but nothing else. On XBL I regularly noticed people exploiting the service in various ways, and was once even console banned under the allegation of hacking (which I was innocent of, and was *eventually* exonerated).

@rgsniper1 I wouldn't. I was a gold subscriber for a long time, but eventually stopped when I got a PS3 since there was nothing XBL gold provided that was worth the cost. I can't say I like that Sony has chosen to follow suit, but we don't know how it'll play out quite yet. It may not be ideal, but there's a chance it might just be worth it. I already know XBL isn't worth the asking price, unless it changes in any meaningful way going forward.

@CesarBlack @parrot_of_adun Really? I hear talk like that from all kinds of people. I guess it depends on how serious the context is, and this interview seemed pretty relaxed. Either way, it's ultimately an opinion we can't cross reference or anything, so forming opinions of our own may be premature.

@DeViLzzz @WingChopMasta I find it unlikely that anyone but you thinks Star Citizen is raping them...

@CesarBlack Uh... I think that bit was hyperbole. Also, it's a bit naive to accuse someone of thinking they know more than they do when we have almost no knowledge of how Valve works ourselves.

I wonder how many people out there look a bit like Ellen Page and feel a tad miffed that it's *her* likeness. I wonder who I may have ripped off by being born...

@Thanatos2k That was Rhode Island. This is Australia (more competent politicians at work, here). Plus, it's only 200K, not the $75 million RI sank into their "investment".

It's funny, I imagine a lot of people will think "wow MS really listens to us! they're awesome", even though this has nothing to do with any good will at MS. They're just reacting to a PR nightmare of their own design.

It wouldn't surprise me if they're just waiting for an installed base to unleash this nastiness on in the future...
