John carmack programs more solid game engines. crysis was buggy pos on pc.

5 years ago (and you can search my posts), when the PC gaming was in it's prime, during the time that time when WoW and HL2 were sure to come out, PC gaming was at its peak. It seemed nothing could stop it, but the sales were beginning to decline. I correctly predicted 5 years ago. Here were my predictions:

-Piracy would put a big dent into PC gaming now that broadband is widely available
-PC gaming would become a niche industry
-No more really big exclusives besides RTS
-Sales will continue to decline big time.

All of this came true, like I said you can search my prior posts.

Now it's time for you to listen, because I can predict this stuff correctly:
State of consoles -

Wii on top, 360 2nd and PS3 next.
Wii will continue to be king and the preferred casual console that most people in America will buy,
360 sales will start to decline because PS3 will seem like a better deal when the inevitable price cuts will come and more people will start wanting BluRay,
At the end of the generation it will look something like this:
Wii - 1st place, distant 2nd - PS3, not far behind 3rd place 360.

Mark my words and remember this day when you read this post.

how come dev's didnt complain about piracy back in the day? games didnt even have copy protection and the games werent very large in size so wasnt bad even up in dial up days. they getting money hungry, they put little effort into their games these days and expect big money in return F them. my gaming pc is 5 years old and im running crysis warhead on max which was released in 2008 lol.

lol if free radical is making ps3/360 versions of these cryengine 3 games there you go that explains it clearly they've been a sony biased company in the past and them not making textures same ps3 version which it could of looked same or better shows their fanboyism.

Don't forget guys, they have the core team of Free Radical with them to code for the PS3.

They can't possible be lazy when coding for the 360. 360 is easy as hell, in fact, it's almost like a PC. They're not lazily coding it.

Textures have nothing to do with coding anyway.

Btw, the ps3 has less memory because the OS uses a good large chunk of it, while the 360's OS hides neatly behind the scenes. But they still have 512MB total.

Textures aren't necessarily lower on the 360. It's only that one mountain shot + Crysis level shot of the 360 that makes it seem so. The alleyway looks the same texture wise, and so does the beginning scene.

It'll ultimately be up to developer to use the engines, and with that, which game of theirs looks better on which console.

no john carmack said ps3 you always run out of memory first because it's split 256+256 and os uses 96 mb vs 360 512 mb and 30 mb os. he basically said it's split memory architecture is reason it has less also. if ps3 version truly does have better textures then it's poor programming because 360 had the memory to allow alittle higher res ones. plus free radical are sony fanboy company actually even though they did xbox port of ps2 game in past.

lol idsoftware's rage is much more advanced than cryengine 3. every texture down to the pixel can be different/unique. crysis alot of textures are repeated.

When idsoftware first showed off idsoftware's new engine john carmack talked about how ps3 had less memory to work with than 360. If ps3 version really does have better textures than 360 on this ps3 game LOL it's clearly the dev purposely made ps3 version look better when 360 had the hardware to make it look better, but they didnt allow it.

No i probley cant find the link now, it was on ign posted by ted price his resistance fall of man dev blog. he said xbox360 gpu is slightly more powerful than ps3's and ps3's cpu is alot more powerful than 360s. his exact words, but if cryengine 3 has better textures than 360 version on ps3, it clearly the dev is full of crap and sucks at 360.
