[QUOTE="Sp4rtan_3"]Bungie is jus mad that Hiphopgamer speaks da truth and all bungie does is rehash halo look at halo reach its Halo 2 in da mountains.chicagodon

no, you missed the point. he said they said they were inspired by kz2. they said they they play all games and were inspired by the growth of the industry. kz2, crysis and a bunch of other games pushed the industry forward so they were inspired by kz2 as well as a host of other games that moved the indusrty forward. not just kz2 but the industry as a whole. which does include kz2.

evrey great artist is inspired by other great artist.

Micheal Jordan- Kobe Bryant

Walter Payton-Berry Sanders- Reggie Bush

Steve Jobs- Bill Gates

I just had to reply for your football example. Walter Payton and Barry Sanders are hall of fame greats. Reggie Bush is a glorified third down back. Bush reminds me of Dave Meggett for the Giants years ago. Mainly a special teams guy and third down threat.

I enjoy team-based gameplay rather than games that focus on individual kills, etc. Games like Team Fortress 2 are what I enjoy most. Halo Reach looks like it is leaning more towards that. Sometimes in Modern Warfare 2, it feels like I am playing a single-player game. There is almost no need to communicate other than to spread some hate speech. Getting a kill streak is such an individualized feat that even your own teammates feel like computer-controlled allies.

Another thing to consider this gen is the success of the Wii. It costs less than the other consoles and new games are $10 cheaper. This certainly helped the Wii take over the largest market share this gen.

Vote with your wallet. Companies that support their products over time and give free (or reasonably priced) content are the ones that thrive. Valve, Bungie, and Blizzard come to mind. Valve is giving the Left 4 Dead 2 DLC free to PC users (360 users have to pay $7). Bungie gave Halo 2 map pack for free after a few months of being purchasable content. (They would probably be more generous now if they were not controlled by Microsoft). Blizzard is still supporting old games like Starcraft and Warcraft 3. Even as a subsidiary of Activision, Blizzard provides free patches and updates to their older games. Of course, they have a lot of new, optional fees in World of Warcraft, but most of that is service related such as name changes, etc. It does suck that they are going to charge $60 for Starcraft 2 though :(

Although plenty of people bought the $15 Modern Warfare 2 map pack, Activision will lose some goodwill in the process. They already showed a lack of support for the game by not using dedicated servers for the game on PC. Things like this, along with the internal Infinity Ward drama, make it seem that the game will not be supported once it is no longer profitable.

Companies have to look at much more than dollars and cents, especially when their products are targeted towards core gamers. These gamers tend to be much more informed than the average consumer.

Modern Warfare 2's gameplay is built around Kill/Death ratio. People are encouraged to camp due to the kill streak bonuses. Dying is actually penalized because you lose potential airdrops.

I predict a 9.5. Highest would be a 9.7. It will be tough to score a 10 simply because the Halo games all build on one another. A perfect score would probably need a lot more original material.

Most games are so shallow that I just look at them as categories. Instead of just "another mario game", it is a 3d platformer. Halo is just a sci-fi fps. Call of duty is either a Modern or WW2 fps. The stories in these games are forgettable and the gameplay is really the best part about them.

Fewer great games, but the great ones can be played for years. Companies like Valve and Blizzard support the heck out of their games and it shows. Blizzard even patched Warcraft 3 a few months ago. Team Fortress 2 is still getting updates on the PC. Keyboard and mouse work great for first-person shooters (once you get used to it.) The shutting down of the original XBOX live service is just such an odd thing to see from a pc gamer's perspective. I can STILL pop into the original Counter-Strike and play if I want to.

I enjoy console gaming, but the games that hook me in the most are definitely on the PC.

If you did not own the PS3 I would say get the 360. There are only a few games that the 360 has that the PS3 does not. The Wii has some good exclusives and is good to play if you have girls around or older people.

Chrono Cross is complete crap compared to Chrono Trigger. It was an average jrpg at best.
