The Army screwed up, not the entire military. They are all individual services, have their own methods of recruiting and make their own choices. Seeking a full military-wide ban seems absurd.
Never ceases to amaze me the angry responses to reviews that paint a game in a bad light that others invested their value and character into loving. Reviews are subjective. Just because someone doesn't like something doesn't mean others cannot either. Too many people attach their love of a game to their personal character and take offence to negativity. It is absurd, but it is the gaming community.
"First hand account" should be worded as "anecdotal evidence and personal experience from one person is used to argue numerous scientific studies conducted by many researchers using thousands of subjects to say otherwise." This is not an argument from someone who understands what it is they are talking about.
@mrcardio79: I get tired of the easily offended fanboys who cannot take criticism without getting offended. Because you bought a game does not make you obligated to love it, or even like it. Don't have to take a hit to self-esteem because someone else does not like it. These fake statistics and profiles of people void of any logic are getting quite tiring.
You can like a game that others do not without having to resort to silly, irrational judgments of others. There is nothing wrong with you liking a game others do not. You can be a mature adult about it, no need to make up fake statistics and incorrectly assume characteristics of those who do not like the game.
I would posit you are more likely to fit one with emotional issues since your post lacks solid logic and is an emotional response to criticism. You can refute claims, or engage in a thoughtful discussion with others who may be seeking a different perspective, or you can continue to act the way you do, unfairly criticize and judge others and devalue their opinions and experiences because you disagree and are offended.
@dmblum1799: Cannot label everyone that does not like Destiny as a "troll" because you disagree, would be like me calling everyone who actually enjoys Destiny a deluded fanboy. Destiny, the first one, suffered from many problems, such as shallow, repetitive gameplay with weak AI and cheap, lazy and non-creative ways to extend game play. This game, so far, feels almost exactly the same. Very shallow RPG elements, enemies that are still very predictable and limited, character classes that appear to have little to no meaningful impact on team composition. I could go on. Problem is, people have expectations for this game and they are either met, or they are not. For me, after the first four months, the flaws started to show themselves very loudly.
Everyone has their own thoughts and feelings on the game. No reason to be emotionally attached to the point of devaluing criticism because you are offended. I spent money on this game, and will continue to make complaints. You spend money and feel obligated to defend the game.
Well, when developers finally learn the community they serve is not exactly the one they want when it comes to team-based games, maybe they will stop trying to build games with expectations of this level of teamwork. This, Overwatch, Destiny, any of these games that require teamwork suffer from the same problems: individuality. Of course, I speak mainly of pick-up games.
I can play my original SNES with a few of these games, or play my modded console with all of these games, plus some Japanese imports.
Those who do not have those options, it really is a shame these games are not on there, especially Chrono Trigger. If I was considering getting one, that would be the deal breaker.
@rafoca: While business can definitely interfere with consumer experience, people need to understand business is what it is. I doubt it as well, but would not rush to say it is impossible.
