So why are you guys suddenly hardcore gamers? Most hardcore gamers believe that casuals are destroying the market. The Wii is the supposed console to blame. Funny. All of you forgot a simple fact: you must first be a gamer to become a casual gamer. You first have to be a casual gamer to become a standard/hardcore gamer. A standard gamer preferrs good games that are pure fun or have a level of depth they want. I am a standard gamer. Hardcore gamers treat games as a hobby. I am a gamer, but I don't think of games as a hobby.

So the Wii, by creating and attracting non-handcore/standard gamers, in turn creates hardcore /standard gamers. This gamers have recognizable traits: they rather get a good game than some random game that looks interesting on the surface. With a user base of 100 million, PS2 created the most hardcore/standard gamers of all consoles. The Wii is doing the same. It will always appeal to non-gamers, even if they don't evolve to hardcore/standard gamers. A section of the newly created Wii market will want deeper games than Wii sports, and Nintendo is already hard at work to meet these demands. Furthermore, casual games will always be around to appeal to all, and attract new gamers. Thats why I love Wii sports so much. Its a break from the deep games I have been recently into.

So the Wii, the console hardcore gamers on this board bash so much, is creating more gamers of your kind, but with a greater love for simply fun games. Games are more than an art form. They are not to be looked upon and appreciated. They are to be PLAYED! While I am concerned at the lack of deeper games on the Wii right now, I know a ton are on the way, and more casual oriented games, like Super Paper Mario, can hold me over with a simple; that game is hilarious!

Trust me, Sony doesn't have til next year. They want the Psp to make up for the sales of the Ps3. They'll release it this year for sure

I own a Wii, and plan on getting the PS3 in a year or 2 (when the price drops). However, I don't believe either the 360 or PS3 are able to pull off motion sensing, at least for the time being.

Well, the PS3 was a  wannbe, but at least sony didn't overextend the motion detection. Overextending your reach invites failure.

Here I am fighting against the rumors. I also realize that rumors just don't come from nowhere. It is possible that MS is not planning anything, but its also possible that they are.

mirlegend, you are in a wrong state of thought. It is impossible to successfully implement motion sensetivity to games built around the idea of a controller of buttons alone. Furthermore it is unlikely that a consumer that has brought the 360 will buy a new controller for games that are likely never to find release that support motion sensetivity on the 360. And Halo 3 is not supporting such a controller: how then would MS think this new idea to be successful if their blockbuster game will not, or has no plans to support it?

And that my friend is why I am suprised that MS would even consider making such a move. We all know that the Wii has basically won this generation in sales, but MS is trying one last move to cut them off, I guess. To bad its bound to fail.

Even if these are all just rumors, how dumb can people be? A controller that comes out a full year after the original release of a console will garner no 3rd party or consumer support. Not to mention that all planned games for the 360 do not even touch the subject of motion sensetivity. Furthermore, a motion sensetive entertainment device will have to square off against the Wii, a surefire way to failure. Honestly, this rumors should stay rumors. It really would make the company look stupid.
