@freeryu: Pretty sure they don't. I have electrical and computer engineering degrees so quite sure I understand what's at stake here better than MS marketing department. You need only go look at performance benchmarks of the GTX 1070 (6.5 TFLOPS) and GTX 1080 (9 TFLOPS) right now to see that Microsoft is lying.
@rabbitcancer: Exactly we won't see 4K/60fps until PS5 era with 12-15 TFLOPS. Looking at GTX 1080's incredible 9 TFLOPS performance now makes that obvious. Microsoft is flat out lying.
@freeryu: If you believe that article you're clueless. 6TFLOPS is not even remotely enough for 4K gaming. The GTX 1080 already does 9TFLOPS and it's not enough for much past 1440p/60fps.
@Xristophoros: Exactly the GTX 1080 is 9 TFLOPS and isn't enough to run 4K/60fps/Ultra. Microsoft is flat out lying with Scorpio which is over a year away anyway.
"4.20 TFLOPS is not enough for 4K"... no sh** it's not enough and neither is 6 TFLOPS. Anyone that believes otherwise is clueless. The GeForce GTX 1080 is 9 TFLOPS and it can't do 4K/60fps on AAA titles. Bottom line is 1080p/1440p is going to remain for quite a while and developers should be focused on delivering 60FPS gameplay with better shaders, lighting, AI, audio, etc. with this extra power.
Great review and I agree with his Pros/Cons wholeheartedly. There is a great foundation here and I just hope they continue to grow the game and increase the depths of its mechanics over the coming months.
@howthegodzkill: Eurogamer's Xbox One frame analysis revealed a lot of the game does run at 1920x1080p but the cutscenes run at lower res and there are anti-aliasing issues throughout the game which make the overall look worse than the resolution might indicate. Also there was input latency issues:
"Unfortunately, the anti-aliasing solution here combined with the assets in use simply cannot keep up with what is on display and we're left with noticeable sub-pixel breakup and shimmering throughout many sequences in the game. Furthermore, we noticed a recurring artefact in which pixels along certain edges appear much lower in resolution than the rest of the game."
