Another Star Wars movie, another midnight event I avoid

The majority of my friends go to opening midnight viewing of Star Wars movies and also did so for Lord of the Rings movies. I am not an advocate of sitting within smelling distance of nerds (I do consider myself a nerd of sorts, but nothing compares to the caliber of a Star Wars nerd. For some reason, I don't think they've quite figured out deodorant) who venture forth from their parents' basements for the first time in months, donning their mock light-sabers and storm trooper outfits and then watch them get all sweaty (deodorant would be a Godsend here) right before the movie starts because they want to have light-saber duels. Call me crazy, but it's not my cup of tea. I think I'll probably go after school tomorrow because 1. Better ticket prices and 2. The nerds have dispersed back to their respective basements. I went to the Episode I midnight show six years ago and now vehemently refuse to attend a midnight showing of ANY movie that even approaches mildly hyped and popular. Shoot, I didn't even go to the Halo 2 midnight release.

NHLU is formed

The NHLU.

I've never been a big fan of spamming for larger numbers in the membership column, so I won't do it now either. Here's the link - you can join if you wish. It's not terribly busy there right now just because it's depressing to think that we'd be going through the playoffs right now. Once a new season begins, should be a lot better.

WoW and HD's

After posting my last entry about how much I would like to play World of Warcraft, I made a subsequent return to GameStop and picked up my own torrid copy of gaming goodness. Thus far, it's quite enjoyable, but it really shines while playing with friends. Get a group together and venture to the Wailing Caverns, where everyone and their dog hopes to find a party good enough to go in and get the three quests completed. Right now I'm a level 22 Tauren Warrior on Silvermoon, a moderately populated server. Sadly enough, I haven't been totally enthralled with a game having such simplistic goals and gameplay since the SNES days.

I bought a 120 gig HD and an Adaptec IDE-to-USB converter... so now my internal hard drive can be used as an external. It's a pretty sweet little device - and I installed World of Warcraft to it so that when I come over to my brother's house and want to play on his computer, it's all made possible. Plus, it gives me a means to store all of mine and his mp3's. Take all that information, the mp3's, World of Warcraft and a smattering of other assorted files... I still have over 70 gigs available on this bad boy. My home computer is a 40 gig and my brother's is an 80 gig... I could fit full HD's from my computer and his computer onto this one hard drive. It's MASSIVE I TELL YOU!

Right now I'm sitting on about four weeks of school left until graduation... three weeks of clinicals, one week of makeup for those who missed a clinical day or two, and then finals/graduation week. I don't count this week or the finals/graduation week for the simple reason that this week is practically over and I'm counting the weeks until I get to that finals/graduation week. I'm seriously chomping at the bit right now - I can taste graduation... sweet sweet graduation...

Worlds of Warcraft

I have an opportunity to get this game, but I'm afraid that if I start playing it, I'll neglect my schoolwork and have to repeat the semester. I would rather wait until after school's out for the summer... but I wanna play SO BAD! Well, I'll have to figure it out pretty quick. I know of quite a few people on there that I could play with, but the problem still is whether or not I'd have the willpower to put it down when I need to. I have enough problem with Warcraft III.

The End of a Legacy...

Broke up with my girlfriend tonight. 14 months and I'm still a virgin. I find it easier to remain so before I get married because it gives me the opportunity to get to know my partner on all sorts of other different levels and not have the relationship be based solely on the physical aspect. Plus, I know for certain that I don't have any children to support or STD's to extinguish.

Your Mom Goes to College...

Napolean Dynamite is awesome and gets better every time I watch it. Granted it will never be as good as the first time I watched it, but still a great movie. I'm impressed at how it's made by Mormons (therefore TOTALLY clean) and I've seen jackasses who love Hip Hop and smoking weed get tears in their eyes because they laughed so hard at that movie. That's what makes this a timeless classic.

Spongebob Squarepants is crap

Rented the movie because I have a bunch of friends in school that say it's hilarious and isn't really a kids' cartoon... they said the humor is directed towards adults and the cartoon part is so kids can enjoy it too. What a CROCK! I did not laugh once throughout that whole damn movie. I love cartoons that cater to both sides, like Space Ghost or even old Bugs Bunny cartoons, but this cartoon is just reetarded. (the actual spelling of reetard is banned... who knows why!)

Been playing Need for Speed Underground 2 lately, seeing as how I don't have a working PS2 right now and therefore cannot play Gran Turismo 4. I played the crap out of GT3, so I was hoping to play a little GT4, but I will have to wait until either:
a. GT4 is ported to the XBox
-That'll be a cold day in hell
b. I get another PS2
-That'll be a cold day in hell
c. PS3 is backward compatible
-Doubtful
d. PS3 gets an updated version with better graphics and other features
-Highest probability

Still haven't played any XBL lately - friends are beginning to ask me where the hell I've been and why I haven't been playing Halo 2 online... I don't know if it's worth the time anymore to explain my bitterness toward that title at this time.

XBLive

Don't look for me on XBox Live anytime soon, because you won't find me. I'm tired of all the hacks and glitches that people take advantage of and nothing is done to stop it.

I do happen to still play a lot of Warcraft 3: FT, so if you want to find me, that's probably the best route to try. I'm on the east server as 'Phir'.

In the Operating Room

Went to the Amarillo Cataract and Eye Surgery Center today for clinicals. I got to watch a retina repair and four cataract removals. Pretty cool stuff.
