even Wii would decrease in size, if they wanted to :P just look at PS2/PSP they almost have the same power but look how much smaller it got sicne PS2 was released, i know they have different hardware but still can shrink in size

in 2008 PS3 sales increased by 38% while 360 increased by 3%, this included the holiday sales and it's NDP numbers no VGchartz you can see 360 sales was falling behind from year over year before the price cut, so you can see PS3 sales not only increased it's catching up quickly and with a price drop next year it'll increase much more, so stop saying PS3 is dead or sony is going to discountinue PS3 but sales show otherwise.

this would never happend.

1) Sony is profiting from PSP and PS2 and will Profit from PS3 by end of 2009, Playstation Brand is already profiting since Q3 of 2008

2) Sony is a Huge Company they can afford to take some loss just like microsoft took loss from xbox and 360 for it's first 6-7 years that it was released of original xbox

3) both company are profiting by end of 2009 why would they want to merge?

4) if anyone quits it would be microsoft since they are better with software and sony is better with hardware :P

5) what about nintendo? they are profiting like crazy of eighter microsoft or sony want to merge tehy would choose nintendo over each other anyday

6) Blu-Ray will not be on next gen consoles, there won't probably a disc on next gen console it would eighter be a SSD cards which i doubt or some kinda of service like steam which i think it would be this one since internet download would be alot faster and it'll be alot cheaper to download games than to buy them off the stores, also it'll be cheaper for the console maker to produce console since they don't have to put a disc or a driver on to the console.

meybe sine they are loosing from other sectors, they didn't drop the price for teh holiday so they would bring more profit but we never unless sony tells us the reason.

sony would still drop the price of pS3 even without breaking even, because it's selling Playstation 2 and PSP at a profit rate and it's selling software for Playstation 2, PsP and playstation 3 which brings in more money for PS3, also sony did profit from it's playstation section in the Q3 of 2008. playstation 3 production cost doesn't have to break even to bring in profit for sony as long as PS2 and PSP sells and as long as software sells they will be making tons of money which will not only balance the lost for PS3 it will also bring in profit, also if u look at PS3 software sales they have increased ALOT because of all the good games being released for PS3 lately so this brings in alot of money to sony for it's playstation section. so stop saying sony would go bankrup or give up on PS3 because it's losing money, it's sales already increased more than 50% from last year and we all know sony would a price cut for ps3 early 2009 which brings more sales for PS3 and alot of good games are being released in 09 for Sony also the economy will recover if not next than a year after and PS3 is a 10 year console so it's too early to talk abouto PS3 is loosing cause the race is not over until all 3 console stop production not the first console to stop production.

sony sales shrinked just one month :P and suddenly everyone saying it's sinking, and the funny part is only NPD number droped in november and suddenly it's dying! it's sales increased in japan and increased in europe and even NPD number has increased more than 50% since last year it might of have droped one month but its not closed to dead and we all know sony is gonna drop the price after the holidays!
