@LpcWarrior: You must have missed the last 10 or so minutes of The Terminator then, when Kyle is pretty much dead on his feet and Sarah carries him away from the T-800 "On your feet soldier." and then when Kyle dies and the T-800 is literally millimetres way from snapping Sarah's neck, "You're Terminated (word omitted for obvious reason)."

@RossRichard: I believed you, because I've also been saying this for years too. It was pretty obvious that as soon as streaming started to catch up with physical media, companies were going to start pulling this trick. Why allow Netflix, Amazon etc. to have a piece of the pie, when you can have all of the pie to yourself. It's only a matter to time before you need a Disney sub, a Fox sub, a Warner Bros. sub, an MGM sub, etc.

@Suaron_x: I don't think Luke and Leia being siblings, was fully because of the Han, Luke Leia love triangle. I've been reading the early drafts of the screenplay, and in the second draft Luke and Leia are siblings (Darth Vader isn't there father though). Leia isn't even really involved in the story. Luke rescues their brother (I think there is ten siblings total) Deak from the Death Star. This idea like a lot of the ideas that Lucas had throughout the conceptual stage, were woven into the overall story we know today. Interesting little note about this draft, Luke doesn't take the shot that blows up the Death Star, but rather C3-PO and another character take the shots, Luke just acts as the pilot.

@Barighm: He's contracted to do Mission Impossible. For Warner to do anything about that contract could cost them more than 25 million, probably the reason they've gone this route. Essentially having Cavill have to wear a fake moustache for Mission Impossible, adds extra time and expense to Paramount's schedule, what with having to create the moustaches, then the make up crew having to apply them.

@shadowwarrior4: Because the scenes they are shooting are reshoots or added scenes. So you'll end up with a film where Superman has a moustache and then the next scene he doesn't. Could end up looking a little odd.

@Baconstrip78: The First Hulk is Universal, along with all Hulk films. Marvel had (or possibly still have) the same sort of deal with Universal as they do with Sony for Spider-Man.

@nparks: True, but for Days of Future Past to have happened, Last Stand had to have happened.

@Vatusus: I never said any of those films are part of the MCU. Which Incredible Hulk actually is, it's the second film in the franchise. That's why Tony Stark appears in the end credits. While Hulk is not officially a part of the MCU, they put little nods towards it in Incredible Hulk (e.g. Bruce living in Brazil, his relationship with both Betty, and her father), that means it can at the very least be considered a loose indirect sequel.

Whether X-Men is or isn't part of the MCU (I know it isn't), doesn't invalidate my point that Marvel based have had success with re-casting. I would say Kitty Pryde was a rather large part of both X-Men The Last Stand and Days of Future Past. But the thing I don't get, is how you can think that Rhodey isn't a big part of the Iron Man series. The first film, he tries to protect Tony Stark from the military, helping in the attempted cover-up at the end of the film. Then in the second film he does as much to save the day as Iron Man himself.

It's also worth noting that while X-Men is a Fox series, Marvel were still involved in the production. Kevin Feige was an Associate Producer on X-Men, he then got promoted to Co-Producer on X-Men 2, and finally another promotion for X-Men Last Stand as Executive Producer.

There's also the re-casting of all the major X-Men in the prequel trilogy.

@Vatusus: Tend to be pretty successful for Marvel films, three Hulks and Kitty Prydes, two Rhodeys before one stuck.

I wonder if this is all to do with WB/DC scrapping his script for The Batman. Because of which he threw a tantrum, so they "leaked" this news as a backhanded way of saying "you're replaceable, Ben."
