It works absolutely fine on the US 80GB, and the PAL release 60GB, the ones with software emulation.

have you tried a hard reset? thats the only thing i can think of. Also, if you format you will not lose online ranks.theiceman08
If by that you mean using the switch on the back of the PS3, then yes I have.

Anyone else?

Well, I just turned my PS3 on and I'm greeted by a message that says the hard disk's database must be rebuilt or something. Thinking nothing of it, assuming it's something to do with my recently installed 2.41 update I press ok. I get a progress bar and once its filled my PS3 reboots.

Now, upon startup the same message pops up again about the database being rebuilt so I am like WTF, but when I press ok, the progress bar appears but stops at 0% and tellsme an error has occured during the rebuild operation and the hard disk must be formatted. When I select no it says the correct hard drive could not be found. I haven't tried yes yet cause I know what would happen.

So, I was wondering if this had happened to anyone else and if there are any possible fixes besides a format? Also if I must format, would I lose things such as ranks in online games and stuff in addition to the save files?

I have the 24" monitor set to 1920x1200, which is the native res.

Unless the monitor's native res would become 1280x800, the same as my laptop's...

firebreathing

do you have both the laptop and monitor set to the same resolution?

The laptop's screen is turned off, I am using the monitor as my primary one, and I have it set to 1920x1200.

So my options are either play with a picture that takes up a small portion of the screen, or to play with a pixelated image...

Based on this experience, it would seem that 1080p TV's are terrible for 720p gaming, or is it just my monitor's terrible scaler?
