On consoles, Metal Gear Solid games are best played on Sony Hardware.

I really hope Nintendo isn't dumb enough to launch new hardware that soon. Christ, that'd be Sega stupid. But at the same time, just LOOK at how absolutely abysmal Wii U is actually doing. Can't really blame them for wanting to move on if they do that, but know doing that will hurt them. They are in a damned if you do, damned if you don't place right now. Even if they release a new console as powerful as PS4 or more than, I'd still end up with poor third party support that would leave PS4 and Xbox One remaining as better values, and when Sony and MS later released new hardware after a few more years, NX would be both poorly supported AND grossly outdated.
Me, I'd bite down and get real, try to stretch it into at least the end of 2017. Find a way to do a Kinect style divorce from the gamepad, pack in a classic controller, and slash the ever living **** out of that grossly inflated price, (being $100 less than PS4 is a joke, being $50 less than Xbone is simply outrageous… I'd aim for $149) get more storage in the system, pump out some more games from less appreciated IPs, get SERIOUS about the Virtual Console, (which has been a running joke on the U side) and stop dragging my feet on localizing promising looking games currently only available in one region. (Getting the rights to Fatal Frame to then just SIT on it in Japan is beyond stupid, it's insane)
I'd also look at a redesign thats more unique and streamlined, and in a bunch of damn colors. (people love that kind of shit) Do more limited edition bundles with special designs on the hardware the way they do with 3DS as well. (again, people eat that shit up but good)
Basically, they need to stretch this thing out as close as possible to Sony and MS hardware refreshes, and go crazy on it. It's not just casual gamers not buying Wii U, it's hardcore Nintendo fans who are still holding off as well. Right now, it's easily the absolute worst value on the market. I mean just insultingly bad.
@SolidTy: I had the Mad Catz fight stick for the bone when I had one at launch. It was pretty damn well put together. I don't even play much in the way of fighters, since I suck at them and can't git gud. But I wouldn't mind having a PS4 equivalent for some of these more arcadey games I have on it like Metal Slug 3. Man, those games played SO GOOD on a Neo Geo with it's arcade sticks.
Genesis had Street Fighter 2 games on it.
We are WAY past the point of a fighting game being able to save or condemn any platform.
Hmm, maybe I'll break down and get a PSTV for the few handful of games I want, unfortunately I missed out on the flash sale last month where it was 1/2 off, only heard about that yesterday and from someone ripping on the Vita nonetheless. You fail me SW!! Still, $100 isn't bad for what it offers. Games are reasonably priced. I might just pick one up soon. I got a jar full of change that just might cover it, or most of it anyways.
NO.
If you are interested in Vita and PSP games, just do some deal seeking and find a cheap Vita and a 64 GB memory card. PSTV has a lot of issues, it's crap. Two or so flash sales later, and you'll have a good little collection of neat games. Not to mention if you have a PS4/PS3 you regularly buy games on, you've probably got a good number of cross buy games you can download to it.
I had quite a few I had played on PS4 that I lost interest in, then when I got my Vita, I re-downloaded the Vita versions I got free for buying them on PS4, and found my interest in them renewed by being able to play them on the go. (Fez, 1001 Spikes, and a few others)
Not system wars material
System Wars is the new GGD, since it's the only viable gaming related forum left on this site. Sad, but true.
@charizard1605: To be specific, I think the problem is a combination of camera and the lock on mechanic. Dodging around while locked on gets me into all kinds of really bad places where I get gang banged. (especially when close to Cleric Beast/Gasciogne Beast Mode)
But yeah, Invaders are just shit out of luck in this game. Beckoning bell easily draws in two players when someone needs help. Twice I've been playing with two other guys, and the beckoner gets invaded, invader comes around the corner, and we ended up gang banging them. I'm sitting on almost 50 Insight now. With how many people get stuck on Gasciogne and Blood Starved, it's just a matter of staying right in front of those areas and using the small bell, you get summoned in and beast that boss, (great therapy considering how hard some of them destroyed me so many times) and rinse and repeat.
I even went ahead and got myself summoned for the Vicar Amelia fight BEFORE I ever fought her myself in my own game, seemed a safe way to test the waters. I've only killed one boss in a one on one, and that was the Gasciogne. Hell, and that was with my shitty Dex build with the threaded cane. I have no qualms about summoning help or giving help. I'm not trying to prove how hardcore I am, just trying to have fun.
I do miss trolling like hell as an invader though, but then Scholar of the first Sin arrives fairly soon, and I'll get my lulz that way. *Throwing down wooden carvings while spinning in circles* I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!
Sir, you have managed to make an Off-Topic post in the Off-Topic forum. I tip my hat to you on this amazing accomplishment.
The OG Xbox went through some startling and frequent price drops too, as I remember it. But that system had some really awesome games it's first two years. I'm still waiting for digital releases for Panzer Dragoon Orta, JSRF, and Shenmue 2. (and the first if you please, Sega) Wouldn't mind seeing Voodoo Vince pop up again either. But knowing our luck, Blinx HD leads the way, along with Kabuki Warriors Online. :(
