2 yrs later, the wii is suppose to be in the dirt. Funny how predictions works just like the OP list of "3-rd party" games (though) some are system exclusive. You made a list of supposed games that in your mind looks good and hopefully plays good. proably going to be disappointed in more than half of those games. The other half is not going to be AAA. Take a few months away from the forum, and still more the same.

I'm tired of the argument that PS3/360 owners are graphics whr0es and that graphics shouldn't be a factor in judging games.

Its not that I think games should be judged on the graphics, but if you are telling me that they don't create more immersion, artistic expression, or enjoyment, then you're in denial.

Artists pour a lot of time and effort into a games visuals. Textures don't just spontaneously create themselves. Normal maps don't just rise off of polygons on their own. Lighting doesn't set itself up. In fact, the vast bulk of development time has to do with delivering these art assets into the game engine.

So next time you wii fanboys are quick to dismiss the graphics of Gears of War, Mass Effect, Resistance, etc. because the game is just 'another dumb shooter', you are saying that the work done by teams of talented, dedicated artists are as worthless as Michaelangelo, DaVinci, MC Escher, Dali, etc.

And that's pretty narrow minded IMO.

WillieBeamish

Interesting point.....

But if you look at the threads these fanboys post. They are always posting visuals over wii games as if that all it needs to trumph the games. Jumping to conclusions is rampant on all sides. Me, I don't even talk about how a game is unless I play it first. They may have a lot of shooters, but never "another dumb" will be used unless I own it or sold it. IMO.

Do you think Nintendo has abondoned their core audience in favour of casuals who don't even know about the pre Wii days?. I do. I saw this earlier

This was on Ellen, she gave Wii consoles & Wii Fit to every member of her audience!. Look how excited these non gaming women get at the sight of a Wii, it's their console, not ours. Nintendo has betrayed us. I bought a Wii, but I will be selling it as two games a year aimed at hardcore Nintendo fans is not enough for me. You can have all the soccer moms in the world Nintendo, just don't expect your real fans to stick around to see you slap them in the face.

Maybe next gen you will remember who got you to where you are today.

Nick_D7

If Ellen gave away any other systems, they will be like "What the Fudge?"

Because all 25 mil ppl + that bought the system consist of "soccer moms" /facepalm

I guess any old excuse about bashing a system will do nowadays right now.

i still dont see how this affects most Wii owners, they usually buy the good games. its not like we are forced to buy them.

name 1 shovelware that sold well?

stvee101

Shovelwares sell well, if not, they wouldn't make them. Logical.

Exactly. This is the point most Wii owners don't seem to get. Saying :"I don't see how this affects me,I only buy good games", is all good and well when you're an informed gamer and actually know what games to get and what to avoid. But a large chunk of Wii owners are Casual/non-gamers,they really don't know the good from the bad.

Serously my 10 year old cousin has one and the games he has are just a sea of crap(with the exeption of RE4,which I bought him :P),and its not because the Wii doen't have any quality games.its because when his parents go to buy him a new game, they buy him Spiderman instead Zelda and Mario and Sonic olympics instead of SMG.Do you see the problem?

Well, K&L, Tenchu Z and Army of Two are million sellers on the 360.

I'm not trying to argue that people don't buy crap games on ALL systems, but the problem is much worse on the Wii than it is on the PS3 and 360 imo.I'm just trying to point out that this "it doesn't bother me,I only play good games" mantra doesn't hold up when a huge chunk of a consoles userbase is pretty uninformed about the merits of particular games.

The problem originated on the PS2,the Wii has taken it to a new level thats all.

So You bought all the good scoring games on your system? Did it stop ppl from buying Lair with a 4.5? You trying to make a point of your personal choices (and lack thereof) of games. Hell I could say Halo is a good selling shovelware for the 360. Didn't change much game mechanics, slap a new coat of paint and *ding* 10mil of little innovation sold. Your POV as well as the TC is mute.

I love how fanboys (not direct to the quotee') lists all the games that are bad on other systems but name the good ones as if my system doesn't have crap. Until you finally get the whole meaning of what "Wii" means, then you will fail to understand why games like cooking mama, and petz, etc....are made for the system. Which also mean you will fail to understand why the Wii is winning is sales, why MS is trying to make a more family tone for the 360.

I have owned a playstation, dreamcast, xbox, gamecube, and now I own a 360. Over the years I've seen graphics improve and.....that's about it. Sure games now are good and some of them are great but A.I. isn't. When you have difficulty levels, such as easy and hard, the difference shouldn't be on easy it takes 5 hits to die and hard it takes 3. The A.I. should get smarter on harder levels or they could have improve A.I. for boss battles. For now, I have no problem with online being the main source of competition because there's no substitute for playing against a human. With the power of the 360 and ps3 I'm sure some aspects should get better??

ragincoley86

Answer is quite simply, but fanboys tend to not believe it. Its all in the programming. A.I. is nothing more than complex algorithms made by humans. sure advance tech increases the possibilities of better A.I.s, but its in the hands of the programmies to make it a reality. The A.I. in Halo 3 is far weaker than 2 cause they wanted to broaden their audience (sounds familiar doesn't it). No better A.I.s are going to come from the system til programmers make it so.

[QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]I'l l say what i said in the other thread:
I dont care because i dont buy those games, so it doesnt matter to me. Plus, those games dont sell well.
Demetri_OS

The point is this; The Wii is a wasteland of crappy games.

I said it would have this title, and it's just two to three more articles away from holding that crown.

360 feels right at home with the defective "Windows"........PS3 is home of the none-AAAE games........

and yet.....ppl still buy these system?..........shock..........tha horror!

but thanks for letting me know about the shovelware stuff, I had no ideal that making games for system that inexpensive and popular wouldn't attract shovelware.

[QUOTE="scottiescott238"]

the wii aims at a completely differant audience, 90% of wii sales in my shop are from family people who want it for 3 things

wii sports

wii play

and wii fit

all the gimmick crap

xcot

shame i've only got wii sports from that list and i can bet you every other wii owner on this website only has two of the 3 on your list.

Same can be said on every other systems. All the list fanboys bombard this forum with on the 360, I only got 5 games total (2 with the box).

speaking of "in the box" since this is america, why wouldn't wii owners have Wii sports? Hate all you want on the system, the graphics, etc. On the business standpoint, they're bring in money by bring in new customers, something the other consoles are not doing to highly on.

The truth is that nintendo is not capable of making a system with high-tec graphics, they have never ever proved they can make a game with superior graphics.

All-Star-Gamble

man, I can absolutely concur, I mean PS1 had way more graphic capabilities than N64.........oh wait....[facepalm]

All of your most anticipated games have been released... there are no more games coming to the Wii this year that screams triple A. Rather than begging for games or speculating for games like kid icarus being made by the horrible dev factor 5.

Why dont you just sell your console and buy a PS3? And I bet you could sell it for 350 dollars.

What do you want to play Kid Icarus from Factor 5 or:

  • Metal Gear Solid 4
  • Little Big Planet
  • Resistance 2
  • Motorstorm 2
  • Disgaea 3
  • Yakuza 3
  • Wipeout HD
  • Socom
  • And tons of 3rd party games

Why not, right...Tamarind_Face

Only want one outta that whole list. go figure?

Bioshock also? Please change the mostly sheep to mostly fanboys, because fanboys will find only "one" source of information and state it as fact.
