Where is this franchise going to go now? Mario has now been in space. Nintendo made Super Mario World, Super Mario Galaxy. What's next? Super Mario Universe? How in the world is Nintendo going to find a fun, innovative way for the next Mario platformer? Surely, they will eventually run out of ideas...

Is called research and development. Funds going in, Fun come out. See how simple that was

what the difference between easy shovelware and HD shovelware.

Go play Def Jam Icon, and holla back.

Please don't confuse your preference of games to others, there are crap on each system and the system that sells the most gets the most. Haven't PS2 shown you all that. Developers are going to make a half azz game for a quick buck, Wii has the most access and the cheapest price to develop. Who wants to go all out on an epic failure?

m_machine024

Hold up there. No Def Jam game have been showelware.... unless you were making a point.

Dude, I'm not saying all Def Jam games. Hell, I own and still have the first 2. But Icon is some garbage. It took a great series and literally F*** it up sideways and backwards. I was really looking forward to playing that game, and so far its the first game that I ever returned back to the store the same day.

Much aside, I was stating that developers trying to make a quick buck is going to make half-azzed game. No shiny, bright coat of paint will ever shake the horror I've experienced with Icon. What I am tired of is these lame fanboys trying to point out garbage games when their system swims in it also. There is reason why the Wii have the most.........take a guess? I'm pretty sure you tired of hearing it now.

Tiny huge 1TB Optical disc.

It is called the TeraDisk and it is really small, like a ordinary CD/DVD. But it's really huge in terms of space. 1 TB (1000 GB). How can this be done? The process is easy (or not). All existing optical media record data on semitransparent layers. A regular CD has 1 layer and a Blu-Ray disk has up to 8. The reason nobody can add more layers on a regular CD/DVD/Blu-Ray disk is because when the light passes through these layers it becomes distorted and by the time it reaches the final layers it becomes almost impossible to read/write on the disk.

TeraDisk achieved the 1TB limit by using 200 layers, each storing 5GB of data. So basically the data support stay the same (TeraDisk will be made out of the same plexiglas like material used in other disks) but the write/read laser technology is completely new. They say it's going to be cheap and it will be available for the public in 2010.

For more info on how this is done visit here or here.

raskullibur

and what pray tell, would be the device to read such abundance of storage space and at what speed?

i heard that brawl will use the regular gc controller...instead of waggle. Since Wii is riding on the Waggle as its main thing it brings to the table this gen...how much should Brawl's score suffer? I mean the game won't be using the innovation, nor will it be on par graphically with other titles... so...I'm thinking like 1.0 should be deducted (if in fact the brawl doesn't use waggle)-D3MO-

So Let me get this str8. Points should be deducted for lack of Motion control? In that case, all Ps3 should be deducted for lack of 6Axis on everygame. 360 games should be deducted for using Leaderboards instead of multiplayer functions. Quit being a hypocrite.

Well in my opinion, the Wii has the best lineup. :o

imo rocky won his first fight with apollo creed.

I disagree but respect your opinion. :o

the judges scored the fight in apollo's favor and their votes were the official ones. wouldn't it be cool if this could somehow be tied to system wars?

Good luck getting unbiased judges. Too many fanboys

Seriously, you pay a premium for a console and you don't expect to be presented with a bunch of games that are all last gen experiences. It used to be the case that when you get a new console you get the latest gaming, and I just don't count the wiimote as the latest gaming. It's a step down, it just lets you do pretty much everything you could do before but with waving your arms. The result: less precision in control, more frustration, and even though they're trying to use motion sensing to progress with gaming, it didn't work for the power glove, and until the technology is a helluva lot better than it is for the wiimote, its not gonna work with that either.

A game that have HD doesn't mean it good either. I don't count HD as a new revolution in gaming. Sorry, but pretty graphics doesn't equal great game. It is only a component (like controls) that make a good game. What frustating to me is how ppl get con into thinking that a pethrea of voilent and FPS games is all that makes a great. Not saying that I don't like those type of games but damn you all mentality is the reason why developers don't develop anything different

I wouldn't mind if there were some games coming out on wii, but every game that people tell me is looking to be good coming out on wii, they just look like games. But more so, games that I could have expected to see last generation, I don't want old gaming I want new gaming and its a joke that I should pay a premium for old gaming.

Different strokes for different folks. Again you are judging a game by looks alone. Therefore you are easily wooed by FMV and not anything else that makes up the game. Also how can you call the price premium? It the lowest costing console? Quit trying to flame with that phailed logic.

I mean that is at the end of the day the prize for wii owners, new angles for last gen, that's what you get at the end of it all. After all that hype about changing the way of gaming, nintendo have blindsided its customers into forgetting about the backbone of gaming, which is computing power, and by

Blindsided huh? The way MS starts spending 1.5 billions dollars but claims the system has less that 5% failure. If any of you all believe that BS then you are truly a lemming. Back to your logic, what different about 360 than xbox other than HD. All systems and developers evolve the physics, AI, etc....everything involved with creating and developing a game. Again, you are stuck on looks and not the rest of the game. Power doesn't equal gaming experience.

Nintendo is doing really well, but that doesn't mean you should be happy to own one... at the end of the day Nintendo's grand success comes from depriving you of your advanced gaming experiences. I'm not saying the wii isn't great for a lot of people to own, but if you're a gamer the wii is useless to you.

If you were a gamer, then you would appreciate what all console offer and stop being blinded by brightness level. I've have the Wii and 360 and soon PS3, but my fav system will always be Nintendo. Those games grow on u. I've always have an open mind when playing games, thus my desire to have all 3. That's what a "true" gamer is, but a gamer nonetheless will not complain so much about a system he has really played.

I'll give it credit for the way it can do mini-games, they can be damn good... but equally if you're not already a wii-owner let me point you in the direction of newgrounds.com... if you think that kinda gaming is worth 150 dollars then go for it.

Nintendo library of games will be has large has the PS2s but has many hits I don't think so. HarlockJC

Please go to your local game store and view the shovel of garbage on the PS2 shelves. Ppl around think the casual shovelware and apparent "hardcore" shovelware like Onimusha Blade Warriors are just totally different. No, they're garbage. Blood, weapons, and gore =/= a good game. So stop thinking PS2 is oblivious to tons of shovelware just because GTA and GOW are on it. Trash is everywhere, and the more the system sells the more trash it create.

I was thinking to myself recently if the Wii is a true, bona fide gaming console. By that, I mean the kind of console that competes with the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and wishes to be ranked among them. I don't have anything against the Wii (I own one myself), but Nintendo's whole mindset makes me distance it from other consoles. It was even stated by Nintendo that the Wii was not to compete with the 360, PS3 and PC, and to be its own seperate entity. What do you guys think? Is it to be mentioned alongside other consoles or is it on its own?ineedanap

Every system wants to be a seperate entity, so that no one can compare to them. I like the Mindset of Nintendo, I don't like the mindset of develpers making half-azz games. Games are getting to complicated, (especially sports). When it gets to that point, its not fun. Gaming is a hobby because its enteraining, but figuring out which button is layup and which one is shoot is down right frustatiing.

Yes the Wii is a bonafide gaming system, there are the same type of games on that system as the next, they get multiplats (though not a whole lot but still), and upgraded hardware (though not HD). I would say that PS3 and 360 are not bonafide gaming system because they are focused on one type of gamer....the rabid, casual, self-proclaimed hardcore fanboys. Other type do enjoy said systems, they just don't hit the new topic button to say "__________ system sucks" or "My system is more hardcore than yours", or other baseless topics, replies, or quotes.
