I've played VC and San Andreas on PS2. I got qite far on both.

I want to try thm again on my PC. It can't run GTA IV, so which one?

GTA III: Never tried it, though it might have less features

GTA VCVery good! Liked the setting especially and some of the features like assets

GTA SA: Good. Liked the free-roam and new featuresa

For me I'm not sure bvetween VC and SA, mainly because VC had a great setting

Yeah, depending on your PC though...

There seems to be some problems with launching it from the CD/DVD, unlike Steam
