This isn't intended to start an arguement between theists and atheists. I just want to know, from atheists, what their thoughts are on certain things.
1. Do you think the Ark of the Covenant ever existed, regardless of whether or not it had powers?
2. Do you think Jesus ever existed?
3. Do you think a Moses ever existed? I mean, the exodus happened, but whether or not they were led by Moses is up for date.
4. Do you look down on theists?
5. Do you disagree with organized religion?
6. Have you ever voted Republican?
7. Did "Noah's Flood" ever happen? Global, regional, local scale whatever.
8. Would you became a Christian in the event of the second coming of Jesus? Or Jewish if a new messiah (proven) would come?
9. Anything you would like to add.
1. Honestly I have no idea.
2. Hard to say. He may have existed as a man but as a supreme being i doubt that.
3. Again maybe he did maybe he didnt. These are all just stories passed down over time.
4. Absolutely not everyone has a right to be happy and have their own beliefs.
5. Yes i disagree with organized religion.
6. I HAVE voted for republicans before although i side with the tea party.
7. Again have no clue.
8. Honestly i would stay true to myself. Im not the jump on the bandwagon type of guy. If all the stories turned out to be true then i would gladly meet our maker head on. If on judgement day i was judged solely on my doubts and dis-beliefs and not on what was in my heart and not the kind of life ive led or the good ive done then so be it. I guess ill be taking that elevator ride on down and im ok with that.
All in all ive never knocked anyone for being religious. You have your beliefs and i have mine. I see organized religion as a means of control. IMO one of the most scariest things we will all face one day is death. Wouldnt it be easier to face it thinking that there was something else out there and this was not the end ie. faith that you will live on. I dont pretend to know anything more or less than you. I just know personally i have never had an experience or a vision or anything at all to give me some insight into the big question. Its kind of funny because i make it a point not to judge others but i find myself being judged all the time for a lack of faith or a belief in god and i just kind of laugh and i remind these people wasnt it your god who said not to judge others. I guess in the end im just a lost soul all i ask is for you to keep your opinions and judgment to yourself....
