[QUOTE="Hakkai007"]First off thats illegal. Second OSX only works on certain machines If you buy OSX, it's not illegal...[QUOTE="RHCPlusXbox"]
Just buy a windows laptop then run OSX on it.

Beats me, I've been specifically comparing the OS's for this whole thread.Macs are PCs.
why can't people understand this?

Lol, thats fair enough and I only used the list as an example, yes there are stupid and exaggerated points in there, but I personally find OSX better than Windows, its more attractive and functional for me. Lets all just agree to disagree.
Asim90
None of what you listed was Objective.
It was mostly preference and ignorance.
If you prefer OSX over Windows then that is fine but when trying to argue objectively you must have good arguments.
Those links you posted were based on someone who is really drawing straws and using ignorance.
How is it preference or ignorance? Macs do have a better sleep mode and faster boot times. They do have superior protection to viruses, yes it may be because they're less popular but nevertheless they get less viruses. OSX is much more accessible and quicker than Windows. These are facts. Windows 7 in itself an attempt to catch up to OSX. If OSX wasn't around, Windows would still be stuck on the hideous XP. Where did 'gadgets' come from? Pretty sure its a total rip off of Widgets.
The hardware and software in Macs work better together since they're built with each other in mind, for example multitouch trackpad capabilities. I could go on, but like I said, lets agree to disagree. The only ignorant here is you. Windows is playing catch up my friend. Accept it.
Superior virus protection my bum, they get less viruses because viruses are not often made for them, and when OSX gets a virus it tends to stop working. Apple pays no attention to viruses, spyware, and malware, and the more popular OSX becomes the harder it'll fall when more viruses are made. How is it quicker than windows? How is it more accessible? Please elaborate.

That list is a joke. Reliable sleep mode? Easier to troubleshoot? Most of the things on that list are 1. not true and 2. Not even good if they were true. Less blinking lights, really? And finally OSX + Windows is better than windows. If you load Windows on a Mac, you have just wasted the money of buying a Mac because you are paying a ton just for the OS. Using windows as a crutch is just admitting defeat.

It isn't a joke and the first two points are completely true and highly important. Whenever I put my Sony Vaio running Windows 7 into sleep it takes around 15-20 seconds to start up, when I put my mac into sleep it takes 1 second to start up. Thats pretty substantial to me.
Here's some more reasons.
My Samsung takes about 3 seconds to wake up. I leave it in sleep mode all day so the start time, which isn't slow either, doesn't affect me. I'm not sure whether your laptop is messed up or what, but the article posted earlier is more apt about apple using worse and worse hardware to keep up with demands and the fact that Asus and Toshiba are rated the same or higher in quality for half the price. Their build quality and immunity to malware is a myth. A bad one at that.
To extenuate your point I'll repost something I posted earlier;
Setting gaming aside, I much perfer a PC that uses Windows. The reason behind it is because Windows is a more secure system. I know I'll get flamed for this, and people will counter with "Apples OS's don't get viruses!" but that is not true. While PC's using windows are attacked more often with viruses, they are more secure than a PC using any of Apples OS's including OSX. The reason why Windows is more secure is because Microsoft has realized the threat of viruses, malware, spyware, etc. and taken steps to counteract such things. The reason why PC's using one of Apple's OS's do not usually get viruses is because Windows being more popular (this being based on Windows holding 90% of the market share. Source) gets targeted more often because that's the majority of the user base of PC's. Also when Windows 7 was realeased it was more polished and has less zero-day exploits than OSX, having only 6 compared to OSX's 20, here's the proof; WindowsOSX. OS's aside Apple is the leader is software insecurity source, I for one think Windows 7 is a better OS security wise and it also helps that it's a more customizeable OS and is not trapped in Apples box of software. OSX has almost no compatability with opensource software save some programs like GIMP and Open Office, but those programs had to specifically be ported to OSX. I side with Windows 7 on this one.
If you payed any attention to that link, you would realize that it's being compared to Vista, not Windows 7...[QUOTE="psych0mantra"][QUOTE="Asim90"]
Here is a small list for you, and no Windows 7 hasn't changed much so don't even go there.

You can find a lot more stuff if you research, but its 1AM where I live so I'm going to sleep.

Thats why I said "and no Windows 7 hasn't changed much", maybe you should pay attention to my posts.
By the way you were saying it, it looked as if you were talking about Windows 7 from launch day. Maybe you should elaborate more, instead of half posting what you mean. Maybe something like "and no Windows 7 has not changed much from Vista" Also with that being said, you're wrong there. Windows 7 is 100x more polished and improves on many flaws from Vista.[QUOTE="Hakkai007"]
[QUOTE="Asim90"]
I use consoles for gaming, so the most important thing in a computer for me is the operating system. OSX destroys Windows, so I choose Mac.
Asim90
How does it destroy windows?

If you payed any attention to that link, you would realize that it's being compared to Vista, not Windows 7... Plus that article is 2 years old.[QUOTE="Hakkai007"]There is preference, and then there is the obvious. Any keyboard with a nub in the middle is borderline bad. Apple's keyboards are much better than most the competition. Not every Windows laptop has a nub in the middle, that's usually something only Dell's have, and If Dell is the only brand of Windows laptop that you've owned, there lies your problem.Well keyboard is preference too.
Some people prefer different ones.
I have used mac laptops and windows laptops and they both have good keyboards.
I have not run into a laptop that has a horrible keyboard as of yet.

[QUOTE="Hakkai007"]Of course. I hate the keyboard on this i5 Dell. I hate the laptop keyboards on most non-Apple computers. It's not like you can go buy a new one if you don't like the one it shipped with. It's not insignificant. I do a lot of flying, too. I'd like to be able to see my keyboard at night on the plane without using the light above me. Better for me, better for my neighbors. Most higher end laptops, which are still cheaper than a macbook, have backlit keyboards.Wow keyboard....really?
