[QUOTE="psychodrone"][QUOTE="RaidensTechSupp"]I don't know about others but for me, XP to Vista = Not a chance. But XP to Windows 7 = Probably. I'm still making my stand against Vista and the half-assed effort that Microsoft put on it. I'm not at all impressed by DX10 either for now. I'll give it a try when i move on to windows 7. 7 and Vista are almost the same, I have the exact copy that Microsoft was handing out during their press release awhile back. They pretty much are the same thing when ti comes down to it, Windows 7 isn't the "seventh" operating system in that the kernel isn't going to be 7.0, but rather 6.1 so it is a minor release not a major like Microsoft is trying to lobby consumers to believe. Currently I have Vista and 7 on a desktop and a laptop, separate partitions and there is no marginal difference on the desktop. & does use about 200MB less RAM then Vista, which is hardly a major change, performance wise they are pretty much neck and neck. On my laptop however 7 does manage power a lot better then Vista, I'm able to probably get an extra 15-20 minutes in the battery life with power saving features on. To say 7 is going to be this super awesome omg I need this type of operating system is a big fat lie in my eyes, Microsoft is just cashing in on what Vista should have been, making consumers pay the premium instead of just fixing Vista with Service Packs. lol.....yeah. Thanks for the info. I just read about it somewhere myself. Too bad, i thought Microsoft was going for a complete kernel makeover. I guess they were too scared about compatibility issues which were some of the biggest problems for Vista. Anyway, i still think Win 7 should fare better than Vista ever did, and i'm still planning on switching over as soon as it comes out.Hopefully there has to be a time when every just says "ok, let's just drop XP" and move onto the vista platform.
