Heh, was Killzone 2 playable at the show? I can't remember.

But anyway, for me the clearcut winner is Super Mario Galaxy. Matt and Bozon from IGN were so excited about this game it wasn't even funny. It was so good that they were playing it for most of their time on the show floor. So, yeah, Mario I believe has made his return.

It was a decent and entertaining show but the self glorification was borring as hell as usual. Sprinkled with toys/gimmicks like the unnecessary steering wheel and Wii Fit (even though I think this ingenious product will sell like crazy, I couldn't care less).

Positives though are the fact Mario Kart Wii looks sweet (I smell a great successor to Excite Truck's gameplay), the awesome new Zapper which should make FPS's feel fresh and the fine lady playing MP3.

You're right when you say that the Wii Fit equipment is ingenious, because, it truly is.

Nobody here on gamespot will probably ever be excited about Wii Fit, though. But you can bet your bottom dollar that Nintendo will advertise for this thing like crazy. Theyre dead serious about getting non-gamers playing Wii. I said in another post that I think its a risky proposition, though, simply because i think doing Yoga and push-ups on the Wii is taking the "fitness" idea a bit too far. I mean, playing tennis is one thing, but pilates?

We'll have to wait and see how it goes. I'll say this though...Nintendo will continue doing what it does best...doing things that the competition WON'T.

i dont think anybody on gamespot would have any sort of praise for Nintendo's Press Conference. But I think Nintendo is OK with that. They're serious about their "expand the audience" initiative, and if you look at this from an adult non-gamer point of view instead of a young hard-core gamer, than you will see that Wii Fit is a pretty good idea that might work.

The reason I dont like Wii Fit is that I think Nintendo is taking the "fitness" idea too far. I mean, playing tennis with ur peeps on Wii Sports is one thing, but doing push-ups and yoga? I dunno, its a stretch, even for casual non-gamers (in my opinion, of course). I think a Wii Sports 2 would've been a better thing to bring, because there's less risk involved.

This Wii Fit thing is very risky, i think. But Nintendo will keep doing what it does best...doing what the other console makers won't.

Didn't ya know, lems and cows only want the same thing over and over. That's why all their games play exactly like they did last gen and all their titles are sequals.goblaa

there is truth in this statement.

That rumor isn't true. The Wii will last the normal life cycle of a console. If it is immensely sucessful, it might even continue on for 5+ additional years. No way will Nintendo release another console so early especially with all the success they're having.Zhengi

well...thats certainly true. Nintendo could just do the normal console cycle like everyone else. But it would be pretty intriguing to one-up the competition by releasing a new console earlier, with a similar pricepoint to the Wii, but with an engine capable of receiving ports of games such as MGS4 or Devil May Cry 4.

Maybe not even a completely new console, but just swapped innards. A Wii shell...with brand new processor and graphics components within. I'm trying to stay in a Nintendo frame of mind though--that is, a low-cost machine.

i think the main thing intriguing about the rumor is the notion that Nintendo would basically bring a new console to the market earlier than the competition...a console that probably would NOT have any groundbreaking technology...but simply have all-new equipment to be able to match the power of the current-gen competition. Ehh, maybe E3 will reveal something, if anything.

i dunno about you guys, but personally i think it is a beautiful cover. brings to mind images of "cast away" with tom hanks. awesome game this will be, u guys seen the screenshots on IGN Wii? There is nothing like this game out there, which is enough to make it amuch anticipated title for me.
