My boy was telling me yesterday about a rumor going around that a new Wii is in development for release in only a few years. Now obviosuly, we've all heard some kind of Wii upgrade rumor, so i understand its not really "news". I would just like everybody to offer their own speculation and/or resources where maybe I can find out some more about this.

I mean, as hardware prices keep falling, I think Nintendo might be prepping something. Any new processors out there u guys think would go into this if it were ever coming out?

if you see transformers before seeing Die Hard, Die Hard will leave you...kinda dissapointed, as far as action is concerned. See Die Hard first, then see Transformers. The best for last, i always say...

i dont think the internet can be shut down. Early in its lifespan, probably. but not now. Its coming to apoint soon where you wont need internet providers to connect. eventually the internet will be free, able to sustain itself. remind you of anything?

*cough*skynet?*cough*

seriously though, you would have to shut down the world's servers. that wont happen, unless somehow somebody pulled a Die-Hard 4 on a global scale.

[QUOTE="thisguy51"]

[QUOTE="babyjesus87"]god that movie was terrible.... TERRIBLE. Who keeps letting michael bay make movies?!?!babyjesus87

wow. really? terrible? i heard it had some pretty funny dialogue though.

no, it wasn't funny at all. really unintelligent humor.. it was all one liners. the stroyline sucked, it had lots of BLATANT continuity errors... a lot of it just made no sense at all... and micahel bay is an awful director.

interesting. because my opinion is the exact opposite. i thought the movie rocked socks. the humor was on-point, the action was awesome, and Optimus Prime owned all. Shia lebeouf was awesome as sam.

i say fourth generation. One, because the cartridge format had been vastly improved, so actually playing a game wasnt as tedious as the third generation was. Two, the games cannot be touched. Classics on both systems were too innumerable.

The fifth genertaion was the debut of the CD format, and the loading times on the PS1 were horrific, for me at least. Sixth gen those things were ironed out a bit, but the games didnt compare.

 So yeah, theres my reasoning.

There is one driving factor about the Wii that is making me skeptical about it.. Well actually 2 driving factors.. A. My TV is 55 inch 1080p DLP tv and I know the wii only does 480p so i think it will look really bad on my tv and B.Does it or will it have online multiplayer. Ive thought about buying one but then thought that $250.00 is a lot of money for a console that has no online multiplayer. I mean after playing online with such games as Gears and Halo there is no going back to single player. So my question is, for those of you that own a Wii, do you like it or do you regret your purchase?BrutonNYC

 The Wii has awesome online capabilities, such as the Wii Shop Channel and the Virtual Console, as well as the Opera browser, which I feel is superior to the PS3's in accesibility and simplicity of use. AND YOU'RE WRONG WHEN YOU SAY THE Wii HAS NO ONLINE MULTIPLAYER, BECAUSE IT WILL IN ABOUT A MONTH. But If you have a PS3 and a 360 already, dont buy a Wii for the online play. Because, frankly, you will be dissapointed. Wii online will be alot more tedious to use than something like Xbox Live, simply because its a free service and because Nintendo has its methods of protecting children at the cost of a good online playing experience.

 That being said, if you plan on having a party at your house, the PS3 and Xbox 360 simply will not compare. The Wii is the ultimate party machine, its that simple. A whole bunch of guys are constantly playing Wii at the Student Union here on my college campus on weekdays. Its just a fun, immersive experience that you cannot get with the other two systems.

As for the concern with the TV. It really isnt that big of a deal. Although Bozon from IGN has stated that Wii's 480p will look much better on a plasma screen than on an LCD. So, take that for whatever its worth. DLP, i dont know. But I can guarantee you that any Wii game will look a ton better on your screen than if you decide to put a PS2 game into your PS3. That is a FACT.

 As far as price is concerned, I cant see why you're so worried about paying 250 dollars when, apparently you were more than ready to put down a nice 600 for a PS3. The Wii is a solid investment.
