I'd like to see an impartial developer weigh in on this, someone like EA, Bioware, Bethesda etc., because while this article deals with the theoretical power of the consoles, I've heard alot about the PS3's design being full of bottlenecks, which is a reason why the 360 has so far been able to produce better graphics (obviously that isn't the only reason).

First: Anyone who laughed or made a joke about this: go stick your head in an oven, you're diluting the genepool.

With that out of the way MS won't pay a dime other than legal fees because the family has no case. Here's why:

  1. In the unlikely case it was the Xbox that caused the fire, MS offered replacement powercords for free and (to the best of my knowledge) notified all customers.
  2. This was really the result of neglectful parenting for the reasons listed below:
  3. The Xbox was on, meaning either someone was stupid and left it running or (more likely) someone was in the room. The other possibility is that the baby turned it on, which is covered in my next point.
  4. If your baby died in a fire and you didn't, you let the baby out of your sight for a significant amount of time (as noted by the amount of time it would have taken for the fire to amount to something that couldn't have been handled or the baby been saved), which is just poor parenting.
  5. This also means that the baby had to be in an entirely different room than the parents, and based on point #3, was not in a proper (for lack of a better term) restraining device like a crib or playpen if it was the baby that turned the Xbox on.
  6. Not even being able to name the right console (you did own it afterall) just reeks of cash grab.
  7. In my experiences the Xbox is pretty much bulletproof, the only only reason I went through 2 (and the 2nd ones on its way to console heaven) is because of prolonged car trips in a soft bag in my trunk.
  8. Finally, there is little chance that there would be enough left of the Xbox to prove it was the source of the fire, unless you happened to be in the room and saw it, which then backs up points 3, 4 and 5.

I'm actually embarassed for this family, their baby died and the next thing they do is try and cash in on the big bad corperation. Just sad, I'm so glad I live in Canada.

[QUOTE="lucas_kelly"]Fallout 3 probably wont be anywhere near as good as the last two since its being developed by a different company.Zenkuso

Yes they have extremely large shoes to full and if they don't pull it off they will be eaten alive by the fans, the gaming community and developer community alike. Then again bethesda is a good developer and hopefully they do a brilliant job on remaking the series into a full 3D environment which is both expansive an has depth and turning it from the best turn-based western rpg series to the best real-time (to date) western rpg series.

Unfortunately til the trailer is shown in 11days we will not know just what bethesda has been doing for the last while its been in development.

It may be good but the only developer that should even be allowed to say the words Fallout 3 is Bioware.

True but seems bioware is trying to establish some new ips for itself rather then remaking old ones, even if fallout 3 by them would have been absolutely insane.

I bet if all the rabid Fallout fans started sending angry letters to Bethesda I think Bioware would do it just to save lives.

Unless its the ES team at bethesda making it (as apposed to the other teams that generally make total s***) Fallout 3 will at least havea chance of being good, but in no way will live up to any of its predecessors. On the other hand Fable 2 will absolutely blow its predecessor out of the water, so Fable 2 will most likely be better. The only developer allowed to make a Fallout game (other than Black Isle) is Bioware.

Boring, its like Nascar (which in itself is a 2+ hour turn) but without all the bumping and crashes.

I don't watch best damn (especially the 50 best lists) because the fact that hockey is flat out robbed every time. If you want to see some real highlights try and find the "score 64", easily the best highlights ever.

When Liverpool scored though, you knew everyone was thinking the same thing.

As much respect as I have for the Spurs, the Suns were robbed, any remaining success the Spurs have is tainted. Nash played something like 45 minutes in game 5, and Marion wasn't far behind, those minutes killed them. For example at the end of game 5 Nash (as in arguably one of the best pointguards ever Steve Nash) double dribbled. Thats a mistake a guy like me who plays the odd game of pickup ball never makes, thats how tired Nash was.
