I dont think the PS3 flopped, but the price and the loss of exclusive games has hurt the PS branding, no matter whatever type of fanboy says the PS3 is very expensive for a games console, Blu-ray is no seller of a system like the DVD player in the PS2 was, thats the problem sony has to face up to, how do you get a mum and dad to pay that sort of money for a games console when the 360 is £150 cheaper and has lots of the same games on it or a Wii thats £250 cheaper and looks like a lot of fun that the parents can get involved in as well. As a hardcore gamer I've not missed a console launch since I got an Atari 2600 as an Xmas present in 1978, but I'd not pay £425 for a games console, I'm the demographic that Sony is aiming for, buys loads of games has money to burn. But at that price its not worth it. I'm lucky that I get to go on Business to Japan once in a while (I work for Honda), so I bought my PS3 for £260 in Tokyo 3 months ago, So how come the PS3 is £260 in Japan and £425 in Europe, Japanese wages are higher than European wages, Shipping dont cost £165 a time. We are ripped off in europe all the time and we let them do it. I paid £179 for my Wii, its £120 in Japan, the 360 is £280 in the UK and around £220 in the US, so thats about a £60 difference both times, ok I can live with that, but a £165 difference, do Sony think europeans are stupid? Yes they do and you know what, people actually paying £425 for the system are proving them right.

didnt think that blu-ray supported HD-DVD, dont want the addons, just want to play games, didnt buy a PS2 to watch DVD's either, bought a proper DVD player. dont need a wireless network as i have connections next to the consoles. all this in fighting, think I'll just buy the nintendo and play legand of zelda 1. and wait till 2007 and get an XBox 360 to play GTA and Halo 3. When they drop the price. still playing Rise of Legends, Oblivion and Star Wars Empire at war on my comp and waiting for Vice city stories for my PSP

still think its over priced and economics wise if no one buys it the price will go down, Sony will take a larger hit on the hardware to get it into homes and up the price of the software. I'm still waiting to hear if the blu-ray discs get coded to the individual machine, so you cant swap or buy second hand games, now that really would be the ultimate killer..

Come to think of it. all the consoles cost to much, get a life instead and go do some exercise instead of playing on a console, enrich your minds with books not games or just buy a nintendo and exercise at the same time. mind you I'm playing Rise of Legends at the mo and it is very good, I'll go down the gym tomorrow.

I perfectly understand that u find 600$ a lot for a console. But don't u think that a 360 that cost 400$ + Intercooler 360(40$) + WIFI adapter(100$) + HDDVD player (200$ at least) = 740$, only with those features the 360 will cost me more than the PS3. And those are not the only features that my 360 lack but many others (Bluetooth, HDMI, Blu-ray player, possibility to connect 7 controllers... etc) How many of those do you actually need, only bluetooth and 7 controllers if you are playing the nintendo
