for that budget Id recommend you wait a month and half more and u can get the new ati dx 11 cards.

They will be able to handle crysis at very high with aa and no stutters.

Omg what kind of noobs get in this posts anyways,

ITS LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER EVER EVER SEEN A BENCHMARK.

Compare benchmarks of i7 vs phenom 955. and ull see they are very similar in gaming.

IN FACT THE STUPID GTX 295 BOTTLENECKS THE PEFORMANCE OF BOTH PROCESSORS.

"wait for the i5" No offense but this guy is a moron and doesnt know a potato about technology.

why would he go for a 2 core when gaming is becoming multi core.

Well id recommend you to get the phenom 955 with ddr 3, Preferably ddr 1600 for future capabilities, since ive seen a very good combo on newegg mobo and 955. less 70 dollars and the mobo was ddr3(1600mhz)

The i7s are only a little bit better on hd streaming as far as i am concerned.

I seen so many benchmarks one comparing a gtx 295 with i7 965, against a phenom 955 with a 4870x2. and in the match was pretty tied there was almost no difference when it came to gaming, but the gtx 295 and i7 was 550+1000. while HD 4870X2 AND phenom 955 was 250+400.

Dont listen to those brand noobs, they look at the little ad intel has of a big monster crushing down a little one. and they think is the way to go lol.

Both processors are good it all depends on what you want to do and what kind of deals you can get on the processor like the $200 i7 microcenter deal if you live close to one i7 is the way to go but both processors are good for different things i7s are good for video encoding and 3d work while your phenom II is good for your games and general use + if you get nvidia you might as well go with intel if you go ati you might want to go with AMD i got a big break on a GTX 280 witch left me with more money for a processor so i though hey what the heck ill grab an i7 but if i had to build a computer from nothing i totally would have went with a AMD/ATi setup much better bang for your buck. But saying that the i7 is totally useless is retarded its an amazing processor.

Well i never said the i7 is useless. im just saying price to performance ratio the phenom is the way to go.

cpdowling,

WTH are you talking about, That video card doesnt struggle on any games at that resolution, Only crysis and its still playable but with a very small qty of stutters.

Your video card is a beast, Its better than having a xbox 360 and a ps3 together.

i have gtx 260m in my asus laptop.

8800 gt and 9800 gt are not totally the same btw.

9800 gt consumes less power, and has higher clock speeds and its much cooler than 8800gt, and there is a lot of 1 slot taking 9800gt, while none from 8800gt.

HAHAHAHHA, your laptop is capable of handling crysis on highest settings with 2x antialiasing.

Enough said.

How much will that COST YOU THUGH, those laptops are around 2200 dollars.

Forget about SSD, it doesnt make any difference from what i heard in FPS(frames per second), so why are u going to waste ur cash on SSD.

WASTE OF MONEY IN CASE AND POWER SUPPLY HUGE WASTE, why u need a 650 w iF U ARE GETTING A 4830, its not like ur getting a 4890.

Are you trying to overclock or something, Why did u get that case, its ugly cheap and bad cooling design, i would get another one better for cheaper and better cooling, infact add the fans myself.
