Well, if Scalebound is really coming to the PC then there is no reason for me to buy an Xbox One.

If you experimented with the combat system in the platinum demo, you would know its combat system got much more depth then just holding down a button. If you do directional imputs while holding the attack button Noctis will use different skills that are unique to each type of weapon, for example if you hold the attack button and the left stick away from the enemy with a greatsword you will perform the skill called "tempest". Also if you press the attack button inmediatly after Noctis recovers from an attack string he will execute a "special" which is also unique to each type of weapon, for example with the special you get with the greatsword is a charged attack. Each type of weapon have different attributes that are more than stats, for example the greatsword has very high physical damage but its very slow and you cannot cancel an attack animation into a dodge, the shuriken has a warp strike that inmediatly stun most enemies, the shield you can stun an enemy if you press the block button right before an enemy attack connects and so on. From what was shown in the platinum demo, the game has the potential to have decent amount of depth in terms of gameplay mechanics. The E3 showing at the MS conference was terrible though, but hopefully that is because the guy playing it had no clue of how to play the game.

So that FFXV might have been the worst demo I've ever seen. I don't think that guy practiced before getting on stage.

Or the combat just sucks.

The combat, the animations, the voice acting, the frame rate.. It all just felt off putting. I'd rather be playing a turned based combat system with no voice acting than what this is.

I am not sure what combat you are talking about here, this guy just keeps running around and getting hit. I dont think that qualifies as "combat". That said though, the framerate does look terrible.

Gameplay feels like another Dark Souls 1 ,2 ,3, Demon Souls, Bloodborne lol. So uh...yeah I dont need another one of these games in my life. Gameplay is boring. Why the f**k does this guy run out of stamina so damn easy lololol. So stupid & just a crutch to make the combat harder. You die in 2 hits & combat is kind of clunky.

The guy runs out of stamina easily because the devs do not want you to mindlessly mash buttons. You also die quicky because its a game where you are supposed to be careful.

Its faster than Souls games, so in that regard its more like BloodBorne. The game is really damn hard, easily harder than all of the souls games. Even the weakest of enemies can easily kill you in 2 hits. I feel like the learning curve is steeper as well. I think the game has the potential of being pretty good.

The thing is we do not know since character progression systems are completely unavailable in this demo. And lets be honest what I have shown completely destroys in terms of combat mechanics many modern ARPGs like the witcher 3 or Skyrim. By the way Souls games do not require that much execution either aside from ripostes, which are pretty much not needed to beat the game in the first place and like I have shown you can also parry in FFXV. Most of the challenge in Souls games comes from learning the patterns of each boss.

Here is a good, non-pleb combat system.

Sigh, You do realize this is an action-rpg and not and hack and slash game right? Do not expect this game to be as execution heavy as DMC or Bayonneta. And like I said, aside from the boss fight, this was pretty much a tech demo to begin with, meaning a lot of basic stuff was unavailable to begin with.

Now that people have explored the demo, you can actually do some pretty neat things with the combat system.

Am I supposed to be impressed? Because that looked incredibly mediocre.

Spamming attack and dodging when the enemy attacks is hardly neat.

There is actually very little dodging. He mostly parried its attacks using heros shield.

People who played Duscae and have been following FFXV should know it is more than two button combat. Aside from the basic attack you also have techniques ( which were unavailable in the demo) , warpstrikes (you did not have these in this demo until the boss) and arminger.
