[QUOTE="Vader993"]

[QUOTE="SaintWalrus"] In my biology class, I had to write a paper on evolution and its effects over the years. I wrote an essay on why I don't think evolution exists. And I got an F I think the Academic world should, for lack of a better word, EVOLVE and ADAPT to accomodate those of us who simply refuse to believe.SaintWalrus

You don't need to believe in evolution to write a paper on its effect. The teacher failed you because you don't follow the instructions. Think of this way a teacher ask a student to write a paper on the effects of Islam. Instead student writes why he doesn't believe in Islam. He failed because he didn't follow the instructions.

It's like being forced to write an essay on "10 reasons why God doesn't exist." I would simply put 1) he exists 2) the bible 3) he exists 4) miracles 5) he exists and so on. Which is exactly what I did in this case. Since I think the effects of evolution are all God's handiwork, I simply wrote my thoughts on a theory I don't believe in.

I'm kind of the same way. I believe God gave living organisms the ability to evolve. Aside from possibly stating your belief in the paper, everything else should have been proven scientific fact. Evolution is NOT a belief, it is a scientifically proven fact. Not "believing" in something that can be proven as fact is ignorant.

I have a GNex and the wife has the 4S. GNex has a not so great battery life, the camera is mediocre, and I'm not a fan of the speaker. It does have a beautiful screen and the larger size makes it easier to watch videos or visit websites (comparing to my original DROID which has a 3.5" screen. Same size as 4S). ICS on the GNex is nothing like any other phone. Even the SGS2 with ICS is different because of carrier skins and other software. As far as apps go I've found that, aside from a few games, any useful app that can be found on the iPhone, there is a similar app on Android. Lastly, depending on carrier and location, you could have 4G. The iPhone does have a great camera if you're looking for quality snapshots. The screen is good, but I would give the edge to the GNex. It is stylish and feels nice in your hand. Finally, it has tons of accessories to go with it. The bad, I find the screen too small. It is fragile if dropped. I know plenty of people that have dropped their phones in not so bad conditions only to end up with the glass on either side being completely shattered. Not very customizable without jailbreaking. It ends up being your preference. Go play with them both and see or yourself. Only you know what you really want out of your phone.

All of you talking about weather, it was 89 here today and will remain around there the rest of the week. Winter is long gone for Texas.

Mazda3, that's the Si's rival.Fightingfan
Maybe the Mazdaspeed3, but not the standard Mazda3 like mine unfortunately. Maybe some bolt ons and a tune would put a standard Mazda3 up there with the Si

Not after 18 years of living in Texas. I'm in Dallas and we recently had quite a few in the surrounding areas. Only natural disaster I've experienced were earthquakes in California when I was little.

At the time, and in the price range, it was the better looking picture to me. Is there anything else? Move on now?

NVIDIATI

You seem to be taking this the wrong way, all I did was ask a question. I'm not trying to belittle your choice, it is very obvious that you wanted to upgrade your display and what you have now is most defiantly an upgrade to your Sharp. As for your setup, I think it has a nice clean look, but you may want to adjust the position of the TV or side towers to prevent the light from the display reflecting off the wood finish (on the left and right sides).

Perhaps I am, but when you say in each post I could have gotten a better TV, it sure seems that way. I agree about the glare off of the towers. Although I don't usually notice it while watching.

[QUOTE="quikdash6"] I have no desire to support 3D by even buying a TV capable of it.NVIDIATI

:? Most new TVs are capable of 3D, on LCDs for example the native response rate is 60Hz (in your case it has a 120Hz upscale), on a 3D capable display the native response is 120Hz (usually with a 240Hz or 480Hz upscale). So by avoiding a TV that is capable of 3D you're just choosing older technology, even if 3D wasn't a feature, 120Hz is the next step up from 60Hz.

Not to mention at the $1k price point there is still better in the form of a plasma.

I'm also not a fan of 120Hz. I feel it looks too fake and it is currently set to low on the TV. New tech isn't always better tech. In fact, like the whole 120Hz and 240 Hz tech in LCD panels, it is for marketing. I get it, you prefer plasma. Like I said, I looked at them and I'm aware of their pros and cons. Better is an opinion since both technologies have their good and bad. There's no need to belittle my choice because you feel differently. Enjoy your plasma and I'll enjoy my edge lit LED LCD. Good?
