Both Samsung and Panasonic make great plasmas and IMO LG still isn't as good as those brands with any of their sets. If my TV weren't calibrated I wouldn't like it either. Let us know what you think after you play with the settings more.

[QUOTE="quikdash6"]Waiting for a Samsung UN55D6000 to arrive. It'll be quite a jump from 42" to 55". I'll eventually have to get a new entertainment set as the side towers will have to be pushed out for the TV to fit.NVIDIATI

Why the UN55D6000? The 55inch Panasonic ST50 costs the same ($1.5k) and has much better performance than the Samsung.

I actually got this on Cyber Monday for $1K. I wasn't really looking for a new TV, but the wife gave me the go ahead that day and I jumped on it. As for performance, I'm happy with it and I have no desire to support 3D by even buying a TV capable of it. I'm aware of the pros of a Plasma set, and looked at some before I got this one. I feel that this is the better fit for me at this time. To each their own

What brand plasma did you have? Also, you can't really judge the picture if you haven't calibrated it yet.

To do a comparison, I took new screenshots as close to identical as ones I took on my old HDTV. After looking at these, I clearly had my old TV on far too cool of a picture color. The first is the old shot, the second is the new.

Have changed some things since last post. Latest is a new TV. I've had this UN55D6000 for a while now, but haven't had a chance to take pics.

Ok, have had the new TV for a while now. It's a little big for my entertainment center so the sides have been pushed out for now. Now I need to upgrade speakers but that probably won't happen until we move into a house. Until then I'm somewhat satisfied.

Still have mine. I mostly use it as a media device though. Last game I played on it was Uncharted 3 when it released. I haven't noticed any problems

I'll probably get flamed, but I've enjoyed the few products of 2.1 PC speakers I've bought from Creative Labs. I've tried some similarly priced Logitech speakers which sounded hollow and didn't have the same range. That's just me though. I only use them for computer applications and music listening while I'm at the computer.
