Waiting for a Samsung UN55D6000 to arrive. It'll be quite a jump from 42" to 55". I'll eventually have to get a new entertainment set as the side towers will have to be pushed out for the TV to fit.

What's everyone preference (if any)? I like wildlife the most. Instead of staging a photo I just want to capture something that happened naturally.

I want to get started with photography, but I am not sure where to start. I want a good camera and I will need a lens too. It is overwhelming. But these pictures look great.TonyDanzaFan
I would suggest learning lighting and composition before you even consider getting a camera over $200. Just getting a prosumer camera or a DSLR is not going to automatically make your pictures better.

[QUOTE="quikdash6"]@ comp atkins, nice macro photography. I also like the landscape although it could stand to be a little sharper. The tree, not so much.comp_atkins
the canyon was an attempted hdr done w/o a tripod so yeah there's some fuzzyness in it. i don't ordinarily lug a tripod around. not really that serious w/ my stuff :)

Understood. Just giving some critique.

Are you going to say that we should start putting wild animals on vegan diets? Please. It is part of nature to kill your food. At least now when we kill animals for food we do it in a much less wasteful way. Are some of the methods questionable, yes, but so are some of the pesticides put on plants to kill insects and bacteria. The reason you are a vegetarian is not because you feel it is truly better for you, it's because it makes you think you are better than others. Come down off your podium, because you're not.

[QUOTE="Engrish_Major"]To quikdash6: Personally, I don't really like the HDR look. If you need more definition in the textures of your photos, you can always mess with the levels or curves in Photoshop. To each their own though, but I think the sky is too much in that second image. And in addition, I want to grab that image and rotate it a degree or two clockwise, but that may just be the way the wall is (I can't tell).

I think it's the steps more than anything that's making you want to rotate it. They are/were uneven. I felt the same way about the sky too. Especially the left.

What do you think? First is the original photo edited for color slightly. Second is after using a filter program. Kind of makes it look HDR. Too much?

What camera are you using? I like the first one.
