Well, DayZ mod was the game that started it. That's what made me start to upgrade my Gateway PC some. Then I realized I was able to start taking advantage of Steam sales and didn't have to pay for online anymore (Xbox 360). I only have my PS3 now and that is mostly used for movies, Netflix and Hulu. I do miss being able to play some of the exclusives, but I rather put the money I do have towards upgrading the PC setup at this point.

I bought an Xbox One for $399 and I'm getting AC: Unity, why do I need PC?
For Ubisoft games, you're probably better off using a console.
I actually like the AC games. Yes they can be repetitive, but it's always a fun experience for me. This nonsense from Ubisoft is pushing me away from all of their games though. My only thought is "what are they going to do to bury The Division?".
For God's sake Ubisoft!

I'm appreciating everyone's help thanks guys! So it sounds like a safe bet to go with the i7 4790k then. With the amount i'll be spending I guess I dont see why not spend that extra 100. I also definitely want an ssd as my boot drive from the research ive done seems like a no brainer. Should I just get 8.1 and then when the time comes upgrade to 10. I know of the programs like classic shell and whatnot to get a functioning start button for the time being. I'm just torn on choosing a gpu. I feel like getting a single 980 but the price of 2 970's and the performance you get is sooo tempting :). Plus they are basically sold out everywhere :(. I live in staten island, ny I dont think theres a micro center in any of the 5 boros of nyc that's another bad thing :(. Sorry if i'm asking a lot of questions I just wanna be sure before I pull the trigger on spending this kind of cash even though i'm going to enjoy it :).
Microcenter has 4 stores in NY and 1 in NJ.
New York
Long Island / Westbury
Westchester County / Yonkers
Queens / Flushing
Brooklyn / Gowanus Expy
Looking back through the rankings. Am I the only one with a 770? I feel lonely.
@PredatorRules Thanks for your input, but not what I was asking for.
I'm just pointing out that those extra 100$ are fo multi light LED, that's it - if that's how you roll - sure why not, but at least pay for more features like the ones on the Logitech G910 at the same price.
You can pre order it, I'd also suggest you to get Mad Catz STRIKE 7 - it's very cool but for a 300$ - might want to buy a brand new GPU with that kind of money.
The G910 is kind of cool, but I think the reason I like the K70 so much, and to a lesser extent the Blackwidow, is because they give me the backlighting I need but don't look to gimmicky and "gaming" oriented. I definitely wish they were cheaper, but at least the K70 is made of metal, includes a wrist wrest and has a really sleek design. Trust me though, my wife wasn't happy to hear how much I spent on the keyboard either. It's something I use a lot though and I don't mind spending a little extra to get what I want.
That said, no way am I spending $300 on one lol.
@PredatorRules Thanks for your input, but not what I was asking for.
I currently have the standard K70 and I'm happy with it overall, but I feel let down. I'm getting a refund for it because within 6 months I had a dead LED (currently it's 2) which isn't a huge deal, but when you consider what I paid and what is expected, it's just not acceptable.
So, I figured with the new keyboards coming out I would take the refund and upgrade to one of these two. Anyone have experience with both? The K70 was my first mechanical keyboard so I'm not sure of build quality of Razer's keyboards.
