At risk of sounding like a key board Casanova I would just like to say that at 26 I am still looking for a girl like Jess attractive and a geek. There was an opportunity once but that girl is getting married tomorrow. Lesson, no guts no glory. Pah. Mushy sentiment. Sorry random Gamespot users, I will try not to show that kind of weakness again.
Feel free to awkwardly maneuver around the above paragraph, like trying not to sit next to the town weirdo on the bus.
@o016945 @straightcur Yeah but in all fairness to straightcur all my old game consoles including my Amiga 600 and the games for them still work fine. Games and technology have obviously advanced dramatically in many areas but surely if technical hiccups have become more common with latest games and consoles this isn't a step forward. Also I am pretty sure that it is already common knowledge that many games are now released whilst still buggy and are fixed by patching throughout the games life.
@leviathanwing @raduz123 I doubt they haven't started work but to what degree they are pushing the project is anyones guess. I just don't understand why they need to keep sitting on the game for so long. How can it ever live up to ten years of expectation.
@Dredcrumb9 @raduz123 DNF was terrible, you are right there have been other medicore Duke Nukem games before it but the last FPS Duke Nukem was actually a ground breaking game, it was amongst or possibly even the first FPS to give us a protagonist with a distinct personality but most people forget that the actual gameplay was a great mixture of shooting, puzzles and in game easter eggs. It was a game ahead of it's time. DNF was bland and was overly wrapped up in the misogynistic side of the DN universe as opposed to the gameplay.
I just don't understand why they are taking so long with Half-Life 3 in general. I am aware that triple A games can have long development times but all most 10 years seems a push to me. I dread another Duke Nukem Forever style debacle.
@hotdogwater66 I think it's because I chopped quite a bit of it out thinking it was too long but have found that most reviews seem to be between 1500 - 2000 words, they tend to be better broken up too so that the text doesn't look so imposing. Cheers for the advice.
Hey guys I'm not sure if were allowed to post links on here but I've posted my review up on my site. No comments section at the moment but I will blog the review on here at some point too.
If you get a chance let me know what you think of my review and the site.
Makes sense to me. Will have to see how it is implemented across a range a various games.
Also Half-Life 3. Just thought post that in hopes that one of their developers reads this post and remembers it is one of the mot anticipated games ever and so should hurry the hell up!
Gamespot - Makes a show that revels in negative and abusive comments . Is then shocked by negative abusive comments. Finishes of with sweeping generalizations about it's users by implementing 'we are not happy with you' messages across key featured articles and videos and a swift change to the sites rules.
PC gaming is much better if you are a hobbyist with a fair amount of technical know-how. PC will always be at the forefront as far as power is concerned however console gaming offers reliability and simplicity. The cool thing is that as graphics continually improve we have kind of reached a point where the graphical details are becoming less substantial also many PC developers may never utilise the full potential of their hardware and software, console developers can refine and squeeze the system over a longer cycle. If I had the money, time and know-how I would be all about the PC but I'm all about the convenience.
