So the fan on the top of the case moves a little when i boot up but hten stops.

It seems like maybe a wire is loose, or not enough power is reaching it?

In terms of perforamnce when i boot up the asus mobo screen pops up and says "4 cores activated" (for hte cpu), are not all 6 cores acvtivated because of a setting that i should change or is that just overclocking? There is a switch on the mobo that says coreunlocker, maybe I should change that?

I just dont want to damage anything with the overclocking/ core unlocking features, but i do wnat performance. Maybe I should core unlock (however that works) but not overclock?

(this is the least of my worries...but...

It also boots very slow, shows the asus menu and then goes into another black screen where i have to select win7 (and theres 2 win7s listed with no visible difference, which seems odd, (at the bottom of the page it says memory check or something, im not sure what this menu would be called), way to turn off these first 2 screens or something?

I cant take a picture right now i because of some sd card issues

So its up and running. IS there any fine tuning I should do to get the most out of it. I know I can overclock, or unlock cores with the motherboard, I dont want to dmamage anything though i dont know how to manage all of that.

Also the main question, the large fan on top of the thermalight case i think worked the first time i booted up but now its just not spinning and i tried plugging it in a different plug and it moved slightly then stopped. Any advice? way to fix or something

I have a samsung syncmaster from a couple years ago I love, I need another one for my graphics work. What is a good monitor to get for $150-$250 range (if that is even suffficient to get a good enough one) with good depth of black, good color, and high res.

I don't necessarily need a fast response time, its not gonna be for gaming too much and IM not sure what comprises HD, but dont necessarily need that either. My screen is semi-glossy, but I dont like the ones that are so glossy they're hard to see.

Is backlit alot better?

I randomly found these as rated high in some reviews (not so sure about the first, led one, i dont care about the energy efficiency)

Hey I just got the parts shipped in... Im worrying though.

Will the cpu and mobo definitly fit and be compatible, they both are am3 socket, but the mobo says it supposrts 2 and 4 core (has two little logos for the phenom II x2 and x4), doesnt have a tag for 6 that i see. I dont want to try to fit it in or blow something out if its not gonna work.

Is it worth finding a good quiet (affordable) CPU cooler, I know I might not need it but would it be worth it (do u know of any)? Or are there any other things that might be worth (i'll probly get warrnty extensions, is a better thermal paste worth it?) Also just so I understand how does amd compare to intel. You said this will perform the same, but for example why r intels all quad prcoessors (i think) and this prcessor is 6 cores? Also randomly can you suggest a reliable affordable external hd to backup stuff on
