Those games were all made after Microsoft bought Rare? Then there's hope after all! HUZZARA!:D Though I do feel kinda stupid now... Where's my sign? All Donkey Kong characters are owned by Nintendo. Diddy is a playable character in Mario Kart Double Dash and in other Mario titles post Rare sale. (Even Dixie was a playable character in Mario Baseball). So it is very likely they will be playable in SSBB. Another exmple is Krystal from Star Fox Adventures (Rare's creation), which later appeard in Nintendo games like Star Fox command.

Rool).

2) Two characters from each franchise would be nice. Only problem with the Donkey Kong characters is that Rareware is now owned by Microsoft. The only Donkey Kong character Nintendo has the rights for anymore is Donkey Kong.
they could always use DK Jr! he is a good substitute :)
I forgot about DK Jr... That's not only a good idea, I think it's quite probable that he's already on the (unreleased) roster. When I first read this, I thought it was a bogus idea because not many people care about or know DK Jr.. But then I thought about Roy and Marth and how nobody knew them until they made their appearance. Now I'm thinking that this is a really good idea, considering how there's already a Link and a Young Link... maybe DK Jr. will get some modified attacks that will be similar, yet different from DK. Maybe a faster, yet weaker charge punch? On a side note, I'm sooo bummed that Rare owns some great characters that will likely not be seen in SSBB... like Banjo, Juno, and Vela.
Boo, Microsoft! I was really excited that there was going to be a Banjo-Threeie, but now it's going to be on the 360! Also, Banjo and Kazooie probably would have been fun to use in Brawl; I might make them a moveset just for the fun of it...maybe.

Takes too much time if you want to transform right away. It makes more sense to have that as a completely separate command than combining it with an attack. 2) Two characters from each franchise would be nice. Only problem with the Donkey Kong characters is that Rareware is now owned by Microsoft. The only Donkey Kong character Nintendo has the rights for anymore is Donkey Kong. 3) We'll most undoubtedly see characters from new franchises in Brawl.:) 4) Here we go again with the unelaborated Sonic suggestions...*sigh*This are my ideas:
1- After performing the Super Smash move of some characters, they transform into something. For example Samus Super Smash is the great beam, and after that she becomes Zero Suit Samus. Link could transform into Wolf Link with Midna on top, Mario in FLUDD Mario, Luigi in Vacuum Luigi, Zelda in Sheik or Tetra, Pikachu in Raichu (lol) and if Sonic is in the game (hope so) his transformation is Super Sonic.
2- At least this game must have two characters per franchise, (except those cases that are impossible like Ice Climbers) because it can't be possible that when SSBM was released here there were two uknown characters from an unknown franchise in America (Fire Emblem), and Donkey Kong which was well known had only one character (Now they must add Diddy Kong and King K. 3- More Nintendo characters than ever with new franchises: Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Ballon Fight, Mach Rider, Project HAMMER, etc.
4- If there are more third party characters my personal favorites are: Sonic (sega) and Megaman (Capcom). From Sonic the following characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Dr. Robotnik.

Its probably already been said in this huge thread but a BOWSER STAGE is needed. A mad level filled with Thwomps, lava etc.donaldo1989You're right, it has, but Thwomps never got mentioned, amazingly enough. Since I know I commented on it and have no life, I'll look for the posts relating to it. Will report later when I don't have essays to write.
Items are an integral part of the SSB franchise. One of my friends makes a good point: if you're gonna play SSBM with no items on a completely flat stage all the time, then why not play another fighting game that does only that? Items are what make SSB so unique in the fighting genre. I myself don't particularly like playing with items, but they CANNOT be taken out of the game. "Items are for noobs" = a noobish statement Playing with items actually requires more skill than playing without them. First, it takes skill with the character to beat everyone else to the item in time. Then, once you get the item, it takes skill to effectively use the item or, if you didn't get it, to beat the person that did. Case in point, using a melee character, I can usually dish out 30% damage to Hammer wielders. Can any noob do that? No. Also, how often do you actually land a home run with the Home Run Bat on other people? I hardly ever do because it's VERY hard to pull off. Timing is crucial, and no noob will ever get a home run except by accident because of that. SSB for DS- Been said before, but it remains an awesome idea. I'm with you all the way on that![QUOTE="ranma_of_chs"][QUOTE="Coleman2886"]Z_unit,
items are for noobs. i would not mind if they took items out completely. your other points are interesting. i def think the inclusion of your mii (or all your mii's) would make for some hilarious parties.
smash bros HAS to find a home on the DS too.
the portability linked with online play would be so amazing.

again, i think that using items grants "cheap" kills. when playing against someone fresh to the game, items are a hell of a lot of fun. i just dont think that using items is good for upper level playing.
getting a lucky shot with a poke ball is no where near as impressive at edge gaurding some one like marth or DK. case and point, Items: yes they should still be around for the Fun Factor
high skill matches: no items (and no, it does not have to be a flat level. i love fountain of dream!)
and btw, we really need to get DS smash bros going so you and i can play. that, or wait until SSBB is online, then we can duel there. look for Mr Wheeler next fall when Brawl comes out. peace
I agree with you. Like I said, I don't particularly like items (too much reliance on random chance for my tastes), but it does add a refreshing challenge to do so every once in a while. And I like Battlefield and Hyrule Temple (w/ Fire Emblem music, of course), myself. Look forward to it.:D If I'm not using "Ranma of CHS," it'll have "Ranma" in the name.Yes, characters HAVE indeed been the main focus of the thread, and it makes me kinda sad, too. Here's an idea: how about actually suggesting new levels and items instead of complaining about the lack of level and item suggestions? "Hey, that's a wonderful Idea!" Thank you. Bond from Goldeneye? That wouldn't be cool. First off, he did nothing but shoot guns and judo chop people: a very limited moveset. Second, the fact that he was in a Nintendo game doesn't necessarily qualify him: he's not even a video game character, he's based off of a movie character based off of a novel character. If being in a Nintendo game is the only qualification, then we would have Barbie and Hello Kitty in the game, as well. *shivers at thought*There's enough characters, they should be working on new moves, items and levels.
BTW, if I HAD to choose a character, i'd say it'd be totally mad if they could snag Bond, he was in Goldeneye so he classifies. Tell me that wouldn't be cool :)

Thanks, it's nice to know that my ideas are appreciated.:) I think we have an almost winner! Jack IS a fresh idea, kudos to you. It's a shame you can't remember your moveset for him, though. If it comes back to you, please post it; it's been a while since we've had one of those. Also, you're not alone; someone made the same suggestion to Nintendo Power a while ago (unless that was you). I've been trying to get people to stop spamming the thread with the EXACT SAME USELESS posts, ESPECIALLY about Sonic and Cloud. Problem is, people: A) only read the introductory post and thus, have no idea how much their "new" suggestions are nigh worthless; B) only read HALFWAY through the thread and don't get to the half that's almost all "SONIC SHOULD BE IN IT!", and think it's about time somebody suggests him, or; C) don't give a crap and suggest him, anyway. I wouldn't mind if they elaborated and at least provided a LITTLE insight on how he would work, but so far, only one person has done the supersonic hedgehog the justice he deserves. It wouldn't be hard to do, either: there was an arcade game called Sonic the Fighters, so they could rip some moves off of that. It irks me, too.Does anyone else think its rediculous for Sonic to be a char? He spins in a circle, alright, great moves there. Put in Knuckles and Tails if any from the Sonic universe, then have Sonic and Shadow be items thatd go back and forth on their platform. Megaman X would be sweet too, but other than those sweet secret moves you get at the end of all of them all he does is shoot. I suppose you could get by with giving him Zero's sabre and those other moves and his shots as a standard B and have him attack like Samus for his A's, but I don't think itd be the same.
As for my personal choices, I really only have 2. One is Geno, which Ive only seen talked about briefly. The move set the guy came up with was pretty good though, props to him. I guess Mallow comes in then by default, but I could go without him. My other choice is probably the only original thing to be said for a long time, but he's always seemed like a good fit to me: Jack (The Harvest Moon Guy). That would be his full name too, parentheses and all. Jack cause I heard somewhere one of the mauals refere to him as that. His move set would be pretty easy too. I thought of one a long time ago, but I forgot it. Maybe Im the only HM fanboy that plays Smash Bros, but I figured someone would have mentioned him by now.
One more thing, please stop spamming chars you want without saying anything new about it. Im just a little grumpy cause I just read at least a half hour total of people wanting Dark Samus and Dark Link and of course Sonic and Cloud. It kinda Irks me.

I wouldn't mind bigger stages like Hyrule but a lot bigger and I hope they still keep Marth in the game. They should have that water-like Mario from Super Sunshine or the water jet-pack as an item.Dragonballz417More huge stages? Yes! Make them a lot bigger than Hyrule Temple? It's already big enough, anything A LOT bigger would just be ridiculous. Keep Marth? They'd better! Add Evil Mario? ...Enough Mario characters already. Make F.L.U.D.D. an item? Sure, but you got any idea how it'd work?
