@jonnyhollywood: I run all cat6 as well but before I could enjoy the speed my old motherboard and router was cat5. Your PC might have a old cat5 connection which is only 100mb caps at like 10Mb I think. Been a while since I've done the numbers. Check what model of each hardware you have I'm sure 1 item is not cat6.
@jonnyhollywood: change your wire that might be the problem. If your using a hub it might bottleneck your connection. I connect to my PC wirelessly from my Xbox and it never DC. I have a day one edition Xbox one never had problems.
@handofkain: Microsoft and Nintendo can. They are not bleeding money. They actually make profit off there products and not by selling pieces of there core.
@cacophony: they bring out new models all the time better cooling different type of ports larger HDD etc. Most of it is behind doors because it's something that isn't noticed. Those the little upgrades or changes in hardware usually results in less power consumption or better connection faster ui etc etc.
