I tried the second method (after the first one didn't work, and now it sees me as a new computer). Now it is accessing me about this security thing that requires access from an email address. Now this email address is not available, and I want to send it in a new address. How do I do it without needing to access the steam menu?

Hello.
I have used steam since 2005 (with different PCs of course). Recently (I think it was when I used screenshots)whenever I access library, it stops working and I have to restart steam. I can access the games when I select them directly, but I find it frustrating since I play the game s(Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike) with a custom resolution, which I need to access the library for. What can I do (other than uninstall steam).
Hello.
I have used this feature called the launch option on steam which when I type down in the test box (-window -noborder -w 1920 -h814) I can adjust the resolution of the game, they work with the Steam games I played (Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike Source, Half Life 2). The Reason I find this useful is that I own a 2.35:1 screen and an infocus 1080p projector with a DIY anamorphiclens I made. This set up is mainly for watching films shot in 2.35:1 (or the majority of commercial films/ the ones with the black bars even in 16:9), however thanks to this feature I can also play games in this aspect ratio.
My main question is what games will also work with this? I don't know how to access the computer's main encryptionfiles and I can't get ATI Catalyst to work for me, since I am using VGA (Laptop lacks digital input). Feedback on this will help. Thanks!
Thank you for the help everyone. I used the launch option and it worked like a charm with Counter Strike. I use V-Stretch on my projector which crops a 16:9 image to use up all the 2.35:1 picture on the projector chip. I use an anamorphic lens to stertch the picture to restore the geometry. This is mainly used for movies since many theatrical movies were shot this way. This can be done with any kind of content, just that some of theinfo will be lost in the 16:9 picture. This is very welcoming to try this out. Since this can work with any steam game with a launch option feature, what games can be modded to work with this? I know all source enginegames work, but I like to see what it can do with other games?
Edit:To all the people referring to the cost of my equipment, this is very modest compared to the amount people spend on just pices of their home theater. I know people that will pay $50,000 on a set of high quality speakers or pay $10,000 on just the anamorphic lens. I diy my Anamorphic lens and only needed to spend $150 (andcopper plating pops was nice enough to let me use)at most on makingmy lens.
Also I only paid $1200 for my projector, very cheap at the time especially for a 1080p projector. My home theater with screen, amp, and equipment would cost me about $2000 and paid piece by piece. It's not much different from some people paying $500-$1000 on a graphics card and processors.

In source games you can.
Just type the following parameters on steam. -window -noborder -w XXXX -h XXXX
Where the XXXX's gets replaced by your resolution in width and height.
However this only works in source engine games, I don't know how to do it in others.

I will try that since I have source games (CS:S, TF2). Thank you
Edit: I don't know how to access the parameters on steam. How do you do that?
Make sure you have the console enabled (in options under advanced for keyboard) and press ~ to bring it up.I got access to the console, but I tried to type out the commands. It's not recognizing them. I like to get a better idea on accessing them.

It is a fast paced action game, but running and gunning isn't the best solution. It is a hybrid of arcade action and tectical strategy. If that doesn't appeal to you, go for a pure run and gunner (Quake, Unreal) or a true tactical shooter (Rainbow Six, Ghosr Recon)
Hello.
I have a laptop that I used for gaming (Counter Strike, Team Fortress 2). I also have a 12 foot wide 2.35:1CIH screenset up and I have read that you can play games this way by using the windowbox mode in the games. How do you change the screen shape (aspect ratio) of the games? Do I have to use windowbox to achieve this?
Apprieciate the help.
