That would be awesome, have a scene where you see Meryl well... , but seriously, it could work. I think Kojima is alot like Lucas, putting in a few Ideas that some fans did not accept then dislike it just for it, I don't like Jar Jar for being obnoxious, like the rest of you, but he is their for comic relief and for that, it's fine. How Merly would work for female players wanting to play MGS4, and she doesn't need the stereotypical body game designers often use (Like alot of the big breasted skinny girls in fighting games). It is the vision of the creator that makes it art, not of what you want to see, although like Lucas, he uses concepts to appeal to it's audiences (like it's game mechanics, which resemble more of a shooter like Gears of War with stealth), but I belive this is the most accessable Metal gear game in the series.

[QUOTE="rctyke"]I believe there are many japanese role playing games being released on the Xbox 360, and I'm sure there are alot more RPG's on the XBox 360 than for the PS3, this I believe is market favoring for the console (Xbox 360), and more accurately, companies being bought off by other console makers (Microsoft)Kuruption84
Please explain yourself. Are you insinuating that M$ goes out and pay every dev/publisher to make a game exclusive for their console? Come on now, I can see them paying for FFXIII, even the GTA IV DLC, but Star Ocean? The best they've been able to do is wrestle away an exclusive like FFXIII, or get a timed exclusive like RB2. Why would they pay for exclusive rights to Star Ocean? Last time I check the sales for the third game weren't through the roof.

Are you calling me a fan boy? I'm sorry that Playstation 3 owners didn't get the games they wanted, I thought Star ocean was 360 exclusive, but I do know Sony does buy companies to make their games exclusive, and I'm glad xbox 360 owners will play the games they will get, hell I'm not really a fan of RPG's, but of course be happy with what you have with your console. I'm just sorry for a good amount of people not getting what they want, that's all. Note: I do have a Xbox 360, but yes I do prefer the Playstation 3.

Dirty Harry should be tuned into a game. Also the movie Harvey, where a man is best friends with a giant rabbit 6 and a half feet tall (Actually 6 feet, 3/4 inches tall), watch it, you'll love it.

The selection of your TV will depend on what is your budget and what environment you are using. Many people tend to choose flat panels, but if you want a large screen with great performance, you are going to need to pay a pretty penny, though the makers are doing a better job with this, offering relatively large screens with lower prices. If you want a really big screen and have a moderate budget, get a DLP HDTV, perferably one from Samsung and they perform just as well as those large screen flat panels (excluding the very high end models, but those cost alot). Now if you want a really big screen and can control your environment, get a Projector, you can get a very large 100 inches or even more if it is bright enough (it doesn't cost that much to get a very bright projector), and 720p projectors cost less than $1000, with 1080p projectors cost around the $2000 range (with one cost $1600, and lower if you look around), some will be skeptical with a projector and get a small LCD, but you'll be better off getting a projector if you have a large enough room.

The standard AV cables (Yellow), that are called composite, cannot send a high definition signal (such as 1080i, or 720p), if you go for an arcade model (Not recommended if you are using for more demanding tasks that will require the Hard drive), you will have to buy component cables (For 360, $39.99) or HDMI (It is very cheap, about $5 online, however if your TV doesn't accept audio from HDMI, get the 360 branded HDMI cable pack, as it comes with a dongle that has RCA audio jacks and optical port, but cost $40, and you can't use the 360 AV adapter and HDMI at the same time, as the AV is too large for the HDMI port to plug in. I did hear a work through for this, but will require to disect the AV adapter.

You won't find VGA or SCRAT in AV receivers (atleast in american models), but there are some good receivers you may want to try out. The Onkyo TX-SR606 is the best value with Four HDMI ports, and S video support, Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master audio decoding, and Analog to digital upconversion that will allow you to use analog signals (Composite,S video and component) to one HDMI cable, and a reasonably good price ($350-$400).

Keep in mind the PS3 decodes the lossless audio (Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio) internally, not Bitstreamed, which means it sends the lossless audio is converted to LPCM and sends a LPCM signal to the receiver, not the native bitstream, but PCM and Bitstream sholud both sound just as good and with no differences, in this case, if you don't want trueHD decoding from the receiver, and are fine with using bare wire (Not Banana Plugs) you can go with the Lower end Sony STR-DG720, which offer 3 HDMI ports and offers most of the features of the 820 model.

Gregoroth

The Onkyo is available for £340, which is about $500 USD. Looks good but it's on a limited time sale and a bit too pricy as it is. The speakers don't seem to be available in the UK though and I'm only after 5.1. As for the VGA, it seems some Yamaha's have them but they're not the lower end, unfortunately.

Do you have any recommendations for receivers similar to the Sony STR-DG820? Onkyo's and Yamaha's looked good from what I've seen and read but as you can understand, looking through so many different models makes your head spin...

I'm sorry, that was if you don't need TrueHD decoing from the receiver. The STR-DG720 cost about street price of $250 (Which I do bet is about 170 pounds), and does do TrueHD in LPCM format (Provided your player has the decoding for TrueHD and DTS-HD Master audio, which the PS3 decodes both codecs.). If you wait, Pioneer will release an AV receiver Pioneer VSX-819, cost $300 (About 200 pounds) that has 3 HDMI ports, TrueHD decoding and Pioneer are more known for quality than Sony, though like the Sony, it lacks S video.

For speakers, there are Yamaha 5.1 NS-SP1800BL speaker package that cost $130 (86 pounds), or if you want speand a little more, Polk audio RM6750 5.1 speaker package $225 or Boston acoustics MCS100MDNT 5.1 speaker package for $200 (130 pounds). Personally, I would pay for separates though, but some speakers sets can offer good quality, and they do so.

I do not know any links on UK stores so I do not know how this will translate to UK stores.

I am playing Rock Band 2, LittleBigPlanet and Warhawk. I am planing on getting Call of Duty: World at War on the Playstation 3, as I loved the 360 Call of Duty 4, though I wished I owned the PS3 version.

As for speakers, try out the Onkyo SKS-HT540 7.1 speaker package, which I heard sounds twice as much as it costs, it's $250, but I bet the pound would cost more than the dollar, so how much would the british Pound over the american dollar?
