You need HDMI (or DVI) with HDCP support at the display side if you want to connect the PS3 via HDMI else you'll only get a blank screen as the PS3 will not output any signal tothenon-HDCP dislpay(that include games, DVD movies or Blu-Ray movies).

I would suggest getting the Dell 2407WFP or E228WFP as both supports HDCP via DVI.

I had the same problem, though for me is switching between HDMI stereo audio output from TV whenplaying games/surfing net and optical 5.1 output to A/V amp when viewing BD movies.

Sadly, there isn't such an option to save multiple settings in the current firmware. I do hope Sony would include it in upcoming versions.

[QUOTE="joevfx"]

[QUOTE="Pelon208"]what is a RGB??????Arsenal325

all the RGB full does is tkae the incomign RGB signal from a movie which is at a scale of 16 to 234 i think and stretches those values back out so 16 is now 0 and 234 is now 255. it basically gives you more colors to gradiat with. but if your TV was calibrated to RGB limited, you have to recalibrate it to RGB full.

ummm...so whats RGB?

RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue. These 3 colours areused to generate millions of colours that you see on the screen. As others have mentioned, limited RGB is using values 16-234 for each of the Red, Green and Blue colours (meaning 216 values for each of the colours).

With the limited RGB values, you're only able to generate about 10 million colours (216x216x216), but with Full RGB which uses 256 values for each of the 3 colours you're looking at more than 16 million colours (256x256x256). Many of the LCD panels on the market (those that build before Q4 last year) do not support the Full RBG colour spectrum, you need to have the latest LCD panel that supports it (e.g. Sony's Bravia XBR series or Samsung's latest models) to see the full effect.

Check out wikipedia (you can get the links from there):

Looks like there're 6 games with a perfect score.

There are various components that can upscale the video signal, i.e. in the player (PS3), the A/V amplifier and TV.

If a TV is from the high-end series, it should give a better upscaling result than the PS3 or A/V amp. But it also depends on the individual's viewing preference. Using a high-end 1080p TV to upscale (which it actually does automatically anyway with whatever input source except 1080p), you can go into the TV menu and adjust all kinds of settings including noise reduction, sharpness, colour spectrum, Black level etc (using Sony TV as a reference).

Quality of upscaling also depends on the source material, some DVD's give better results upscaled and others you probably can't see a difference.

As some already mentioned here, just play around with the various settings and combinations and choose one which you judge based on your own viewing preference :)

how do you make a us account with an eu ps3? i want medieval but it isnt on the eu store yet and all the other stuff that the eu doesnt have. d_ano

Just create your new account as normal but select US and just any US address (go to any US website and copy a US address from there). Once the account is created you can login to it and download all the game demos and trailers from there, though you may not be able to buy anything since it may require a credit card that has a valid US billing address.

 The same goes for the Asia or Japan accounts.

Generally there are different free contents available in the 4 PSNs (US, Europe, Asia, Japan), so having an account for these 4 PSNs allow you to download all the free contents available in them.

Famitsu Japan's review system has always been used as a benchmark to gauge the quality of the games in the industry so any game that can score above 30 is considered worth buying.

 If I remembered correctly there were only around 4 or 5 games that had a perfect score of 40/40.

Looks like it's a title worth waiting for :)

Also, Square Enix executive Shinji Hashimoto mentioned to Nikkei Business Publication that the company does not have current plans to develop any Final Fantasy games for Xbox 360. So there!

Since the article in the news section didn't quite put the WHOLE picture in the headline, thought I'd do it here :)

No flaming pls, just facts here.
