I cry during movies far more than I'd like to admit. Hell, the past two months alone my eyes have gotten watery during Big Hero 6, Interstellar, Penguins of Madagascar and The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies. It seems as I've gotten older I've become very soft in regard to movies.

I'm mildly interested. When I saw the first trailer a while ago, I thought the movie looked like shit. I saw the new trailer today and it looked alright. Could still be a piece of shit, but I will probably see it.

Meh, I never really hated her. In the first series she was kind of whiny and useless, but so was Nartuo, he just had more dumb luck. In Shippuden I actually ended up liking her more than many of the "main" characters. She actually becomes somewhat useful but not in an absurdly overpowered way, and most of the time she (unlike Naruto) isn't a total oblivious dumb ass. She's definitely one of the more "normal" characters, which is a nice change of pace from over the top good, bad, or stupid. My main issue with her is her stupid obsession with Sasuke. Seriously, you had a crush on a dude 2-3 years ago, when you were a kid, now he is a murdering terrorist who has (on and off) sided with the enemy, and you still spend all day obsessing over him? Come on. Sort of tangent here, but I never got why people like Hinata. She is even more useless than Sakura and has never had a line of dialog that isn't "oh Naruto..."

Their reasons for fighting the army aren't religiously motivated in this case, that's my point - both sides are Muslim. It's not as simple as them fighting in the name of Islam, it's the tribal fighters rebelling against the government they hate for their own reasons.

Obviously there's an argument to be made if Islam is violent or not and I'd probably agree with you, it's just not worth talking about in a conflict where both sides are Islamists.

Fair point. There is definitely more than just religion that influences this conflict. I just get annoyed sometimes when people try to make it seem like Islam can do no wrong and never has anything to do with many of these acts of violence.

They didn't attack this school in the name of religion, they did it in the name of nationalism, their organization, and the overarching war the Taliban have been waging against the Pakistani government since last summer. Trying to boil it down to "hurr durrr ISLAM" is just stupid.

Yeah, except why is the Taliban waging war against the Pakistani government? Because they are standing in the way of the Taliban's extremist religious agenda (you know, the sole reason for the Taliban's existence and all). Trying to ignore the religious aspect of this conflict is just stupid.

At some point we all have to see the writing on the wall here, Islam is a religion that seems to foster violence and oppression. That is not to say all Muslims are like this (I personally know many fantastic people who follow this faith), but in recent years there have been literally thousands of killings and atrocities that have been committed by those motivated by Islam, and 100's of millions of people who believe women should be oppressed, gays should be shunned, and other religions should not be tolerated. You can only go on blaming other factors for so long.

Football is far and away the most popular american sport to watch. Honestly, I never understood why people liked watching baseball. It's fun to play, but boring as **** to watch. But what do I know, Hockey is my favorite sport.

So? Wasn't there also a study that found that something like 30% of Americans think the sun revolves around the Earth? The general consensus doesn't always equate to "correct" or "smart".

I think it is more a cultural issue rather than a race issue. Heck, the Asians in North America didn't exactly have it any easier than the Blacks for most of our history, yet they had a culture that emphasized hard work and success, and they achieved it by and large. You can blame the white man for overarching societal trends all you want, but in the end, it always comes down to individual choice. It's a choice to drop out of school, it's a choice to join a gang, it's a choice to leave your family, it's a choice to commit a crime. And unfortunately, it appears black communities seem to ignore or even advocate these choices. It's easy to say, "well, they grew up in poverty, they had no choice", but they do. I have known dozens of people who grew up in poverty, but they worked hard to improve their situation and do better for their children. Are there racist individuals and polices? Most definitely. But things will never improve for the black communities until they take responsibility for their people and their actions, and strive to do better, not just blame others for their misfortune.

You realize that you should have deleted that photo when you broke up with your ex right? She got upset because you kept it.

He doesn't have to delete them if he doesn't want to. Not everyone likes to get rid of every memory of their ex's just because they broke up. Just because you are dating a new girl doesn't mean the last girl suddenly doesn't exist anymore and any time you spent with her is null and void. For example, I still have pictures of me and my ex together and I have no intention of deleting them. We had good some good times together, why would I suddenly purge those memories? If TC's girl friend was mature enough, she would have realized that people have histories and past relationships, and should have discussed the pictures with him in a mature manner (ie, "they make me uncomfortable, I would appreciate it if you deleted them") not run away in the middle of the night.
